Audi officially unveiled the 2012 Audi RS5 in Frankfurt earlier this month. The high-performance version of the Audi A5 is officially headed to the U.S. and now there are rumors that Audi is working on a convertible version of the RS5.

Leaked patent drawings of a 2012 RS5 Cabrio have showed up and provides some proof that the high-performance convertible is actually planned. The convertible RS5 will likely have a soft top like the A5 and S5 cabrios. It will also get the same 450 horsepower 4.2L V8 as the coupe. It's not known when the convertible will be released.
