One of the more exciting things about the Fiat/ Chrysler tie up has been the possibility that Alfa Romeo would make a return to the US. Well it looks like we may have to wait a bit longer. Fiat/ Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne recently stated at the Detroit Auto Show that Alfa Romeo must prove that it has "a right to exist as a separate brand" before it is expanded beyond Europe. The original plans were to launch Alfa Romeo in the US in 2010, but according to Marchionne if Alfa doesn't make a good business case for it, it't not going to happen...

Here's a good business case for it - their cars are frickin' sweet.

Man slap a Fiat badge on it and call it good. I love the little Mito!! Some of the Alfa Romeo cars would do well. They would be stupid not to bring them here.

Well, if they don't bring their product to the US, why did they buy Chrysler? Chrysler cars, with very few exceptions, suck. I thought they bought Chrysler for their dealerships and possibly their factories to be used to build different and better cars.
Say what you will about Fiat/Alfa, at least their cars look like someone who liked cars designed them. Chrysler cars look as cheap as they feel when you drive them. Uggg.

Really? Like I would post something like a '.'? Please try harder next time so I can have more fun.
Now with regards to the subject, while I think Alfa's are cool, it makes no sense to bring another brand into the US which is already over saturated with brands and the amount of cars it produces. Sounds like Fiat is playing it safe. When the economy is better and US is moving more units a year, then introduce Alfa.
