Blue Z34:

How much?!?

thetruth:

Wow, 300 euro plus vat, that's an awefully expensive car considering it's not a special model, just a special trim. Originally I was very interested in this headline, more bower and better brakes for a 10-15k premium and it'd definately be on my list of cars to take for a spin...but forget about it for this price.

DuDe:

for €300K it is a ridiculously overpriced.

VinceL:

At first I didn't realize this was a special 'racing' version. I can accept that it is horribly expensive, but if I bought one, what will I get for my money? I wonder what else has been done to this car to justify the price, if it can be justified!

At almost a half a million US$, it better be damned special, and freakishly fast!

RX-7 Guy:

And it can't out run or out track a ZR1 and isn't even sexy...

Noya:

Can you idiots read?

This is a spec RACE car, despite the wrong pictures of a street Z4 by the blog poster.

@ RX-7 Guy, any spec racer (lightweight) with 400hp+ and a sequential, straight cut gearbox will rape a ZR1 on a track and probably in a straight line.

Avatar:

Um, Noya, you are aware that the C6.R GT2 is based off of the ZR1. Same body with slightly wider fenders, a wing, steel brakes, and a smaller, less powerful engine. Granted, the ZR1 weighs 3,340 lbs vs 2,745 of the C6.R GT2, but less power and weaker brakes basically make it equal. ZR1 power to weight is 5.24 and C6.R GT2 is 5.84. So, with that in mind, I don't think the Z4 GT3 will "rape a ZR1 on a track and probably in a straight line." Especially since the Z4 weighs more to start, 3,494 lbs for the 35i. Doing the quarter mile in the low 11s at around 130 mph is fast.

And to give you more of an idea, the BMW M3 GT2 (same engine as this with slightly more hp) ran the Ring in 8.19.607, ZR1 is almost a full minute faster.

thetruth:

rape as in....what Noya and his friends do to sheep on Friday night because they can't find dates at the local taco bell?

I love people get so excited when cars perform so close to one another that driving skill may have more to do with lap times than actual mechanical performance.

Timeless:

I think the correct consensus is that it is superbly overpriced and will go down as a true blunder.
