I can't seem to pinpoint what the rear end looks like... it's like a cross between the bat mobile and the 2nd gen MR2.
Why no engine shots? :( Top secret?

It needs at least a 300hp 4 cylinder turbo or it will just be another boring scion tc, tiburon, or eclipse.

Peter, I agree with you 50%.
it needs power to attract buyers away from the 370Z, RX-8s etc..
But you have to realize that the vehicle they are "re-making" is the AE86.... which was not powerful..... but it had great handling and great response when driven hard.
Toyota/Subaru is aiming to basically do a "poor man's" Lotus Exige/Elise with the FT86 it seems... at around 1100kg... thats light... very light.... the engine is also responsive, all they really have to do is tune it to achieve max torque and max power at around 3000-4000rpm and this car would ZIP around corners and be a real quick car around a track that has many turns.... the suspension system intrigues me too.
on a straight line the lack of power would be bad.... but WHO HAS FUN driving fast on a straight line??.... it gets blood pumping.... but its about 25% the fun you get driving around complicated turns, corners at around 40/60 mph.

OMG. The outside design is just fantastic. I like just about every angle of the car. The front, side and back are very nicely done. After I enjoyed the outside I looked inside and was kind of put off. I don't know what the heck they have done with the dash. The inside kind of has me for a loss of words. The seats are ok, but the dash is just a mess.

I'm wondering if they'll have a Lexus variant of this car with a V6 and maybe AWD? Crossing my fingers, I live in Canada and love sports cars but I need AWD for the snowwwww.

@ Lukaas
I agree with pretty much everything you said, but this comment made me laugh;
"WHO HAS FUN driving fast on a straight line??"
Myself and the thousands of people who drag race =) There have been plenty of drag only ae86's. It's hard to turn down a super light RWD platform. Paradise Racing has an 8 second ae86 that's pretty amazing.

If they can do light weight, turbo 4 cylinder making 220-230hp, with good mpg (30 on the hwy I know it can be done). It would be a winner in my book. Almost forgot lose the zippers on the dash. That is just one more thing to break.

Interiors from concept cars share very few elements with their production versions (typically). Functionally, you will rarely see white interiors in cars... I think the interior was just something to meet the theme of the concept, but not targeted to be a production pitch.
Has toyota officially said this concept is even going to production yet or has that not been determined?
