The sales numbers for August 2009 are in and thanks to the Cash for Clunkers program sales were up for a few of the automakers. Toyota, Honda and Ford saw sales increase by 10.5%, 14.2% and 17%, respectively. Although GM was down 20.2% and Chrysler by 15%.
The Toyota Camry surpassed the Ford F-Series to become the best selling vehicle in the US last month, although the F-Series also had a good month. New to the list for August was the Hyundai Elantra, likely due to increased sales from the Cash for Clunkers program. The Honda CR-V also made a return this month, surpassing the Ford Escape, which is missing this time.
* Toyota Camry: 54,396
* Ford F-Series: 45,590

In other words, the top three companies:
Honda: 113,304
Toyota: 97,457
Ford: 71,137
Gotta at least be descently pleased if you own stock in any of these companies.

I should've said, "In other words, the top 3 companies for the month of August with the cash-for-clunkers program"...since that was what the article was about.
Anyway, my Ford stock has skyrocketed in the past 6 months 8 fold!
