Toyota has yet to officially release any full photos of the 2010 4Runner, but here are some photos of the body-on-frame SUV that is going to be unveiled in a few weeks.

The fifth generation 4Runner sticks to its body-on-frame roots and gets all-new styling that emphasizes this. The 2010 4Runner will be available with either a 161-hp 4-cyl or a 268-hp V6 engine. The V8 will no longer be offered.

Stay tuned for the official unveiling...

It's not getting any prettier...

My thoughts exactly. The headlights look like they don't belong on this car; somehow the turn signals just don't flow properly...

I don't understand. Toyota should use their American designers.

Their vehicles resemble typical male Asians: too much estrogen, not enough testosterone.

What is with all the straight lines blended into curves these days? Does humanity not remember the Aztek??

The sharp corners on the front fascia have to go. Whatever carmaker came up with that styling cue (almost everybody uses it now) should be kicked in the a$$.
The Tacoma is a good looking truck Toyota. This one needs some smoothing to get in the same neighborhood.

I'm still surprised Toyo would base this using body-on-frame when most are turning to uni-body for smaller SUV's.

TomT:

I have second all the above comments.

Also why go cab on frame and leave out the V8? This thing is much larger than a RAV-4 so why give it the same small engine options?

mike:

Will 4 cylinder be automatic?

Peanut:

Seriously, Toyota you need to go back to the design studio and work out a new direction in style.
Looks as about exciting as looking at a brick wall.

Kawi:

Third generation was the bet. It's all downhill after that.

Kawi:

bet = best
