According to Inside Line, Jaguar is currently at work on a compact five door coupe based on the XF. Think of it as a competitor to the Audi A5 Sportback.
The coupe is codenamed RD7 and it has suicide-type rear doors and a side-hinged tailgate. Jaguar had been considering three and five door versions, but has decided to move forward only with the five door since it should have higher sales.
Although Inside Line has received word that the coupe is in the works, it is still about four years off. A new sportscar, codenamed XE is set to debut first in 2011, with sales starting in 2012.

Five-door Coupe? Don't they mean Five Door Hatchback? Coupe's are 2, count'em, TWO doors with a separate trunk. Coupe's are NOT 4 doors, or 3 or 5! Cars with 4 Doors and a separate trunk are SEDAN'S!! Cars with 3 and 5 doors are HATCHBACKS!!
And I'm sorry but the car looks just like a Buick Lacrosse.
