Bugatti recently held an event to unveil its newest concept the Galibier four door supercar to its past customers and future Bugatti buyers. The Galibier is going to be officially unveiled in Frankfurt, but now we have an early look.
The Galibier concept features a two-tone exterior with polished aluminum for the doors and front fenders mated to a dark blue carbon fiber weave. The concept is powered by Bugatti's huge 8.0L W16 engine that is mounted in the front of the car. It's being reported that it will have a top speed of 217 mph.
Just in case you're wondering Galibier is the name of one of the most difficult alpine passes along the Tour de France.

Nice drivetrain, but a complete Fail on the design. Made for those with more money than sense, I suppose. Whoever buys one will have to hire someone to polish the aluminum on a daily basis, not even assuming it ever leaves the garage.

About the aluminum polishing, this car is purely about making a statement, so you're right about the money vs sense. And sadly, you're probably right about it not leaving the garage.

Bugatti used to stand for ground breaking design, technology and performance. Sadly, the design portion is missing from the equation. Does VW honestly think they can repackage a grotesque Porsche Panamera rear end with an EB badge and noone would be the wiser? Thanks for cutting costs VW and trying to rip off those w/ more money than they know what to do with. BTW, imho the Porsche Panamera is the ugliest car to have been made since the Aztek. Thanks for making a Bugatti with it. I was looking forward to this car. I WAS.......

Great looking!
It seems Porsche Panamera could keep the crown of the ugliest super saloon.

Actually, I think it's mostly bland looking. It needed the two-tone thing to keep it from looking mundane.
It does have some details that would clue the observant into it's nature. But to most people? Eh.

EW! What the fuck were they thinking?? The looks of the coupe were already questionable...but the four turbochargers made up for that. This thing looks to be an upgraded Porsche Panamera..and that's ugly too! All that and it tops out at 217?? The new Jag XFR can do better than that, for probably a fraction of what this will cost and is exponentially better looking. And the new Jag is a porker with only a 5.0L, can't imagine the wieght of a 8.0L W16 would be. Epic fail, very poor! The only reason one would by this would be for the rarity...and the fact that it's a Bugatti.

Reading the comments, it seems very few people know about Bugatti story. The back is a reminescent of both Type57SC Atantide and the old Bugatti EB112 concept which inspires Porsche Panamera. Given the design, Bugatti a very good job at causing reaction.

I know the Bugatti story well enough. The Type 57's were 2 door coupes. The 57SC had a nice clean drop off that left no question as to the designers intent. I agree this is reminiscent of the EB112 but it doesn't differentiate much from its 1993 original design in my opinion. For the money they will ask and for the brand that Bugatti is I expect 'evocative' while this to me is 'convoluted'. If the rear was to be a Bugatti design feature, it was definitely a mistake to put it on the ugliest Porsche ever first.
I do like the interior though, the adjustable mirror reminds me of the Spyker shifter whilst evoking a classical split screen. Maybe one can just live inside it and never have to see the outside?
