Photo leaks are so common now that it was only a matter of time before photos of the upcoming drop-top version of the Audi R8 showed up. Well here you go...the first photos of the R8 Spyder are here.

Audi has yet to release the specifics of the R8 Spyder, but it is already known that it will be available with a 525-hp 5.2L V10 engine.

Rather than having a heavy retractable hardtop, Audi has equipped the R8 Spyder with a soft-top. These photos don't show the Spyder with the top up, but stay tuned for its unveiling in Frankfurt.

schultzboy:

it will be interesting to see what it looks like with the top up. not too bad with the top down though. but i think i still prefer the coupe better.

Blue Z34:

OOOOOO GOOOOD!!! Looks super rich!!! That color is very sexy.

topper:

Blue Z34, lay down the wine bottle....you're hallucaniting....wait...you own a Z34, that explains it!!!

l3admonky:

I agree with blue that the color is sexy but the car doesn't look super rich. The new drop top Maserati, which also comes in brown, looks super rich and if I had the money, I'd take that over this. The R8 Spyder looks great an only compliments the line in my opinion. I hope it looks good with the top up because that can be a deal breaker for some people.

Blue Z34:

So trooper...you're saying that this car is ugly or what? Because if that's the case it looks like you're the one who needs to lay of the alcohol.

Avatar:

I don't think Trooper is saying it looks bad so much as there are other cars out there that look more exotic/worth more.

l3admonky:

Well, of course there are other cars that look more exotic and are worth more, but I think this car fits nicely in the middle of that segment. It's still accessible seeing as how it's an Audi, you don't see too many vehicles in this color, although more and more seem to be offered in it as of late, and you still get supercar performance.
