These spy shots may be our first look at the undisguised 2011 Hyundai Sonata. These photos were obviously taken from a photo shoot (note the cutaway).
The 2011 Sonata is definitely going after more market share in the midsize sedan segment with its new more expressive style and coupe-like roofline.
Stay tuned for the first official photos..soon.

Wow, Hyundai sure means business with this one!
Seems to me Hyundai is ready to play with the big boys with this Sonata. I wonder if they will introduce a 3.5L engine to join the big boys, or if they will use the current 3.8 in other models.
The styling may be a bit too aggressive for some, but I sure like the interior. Very nice indeed.

I like where this is going. Hyundai has made huge strides in styling over the last couple of years. I think this car will be a hit.
Keep it up!

Now this is getting interesting day by day, me likey too............
Now people wud start looking for where the design clues came from........IMHO Hyundai is way past that phase and even if they do their copy designs look better and more apealing than orignals eg: KIA FORTE

Damn... I was just about set to buy a Fusion next year, until I saw this. Decisions, decisions...

honestly, i think this is a great looking car, but i like the way the Ford Fusion looks, and this car just looks like they tried too hard for the cutting edge design. i dont why but i just dont feel like they can back the looks up with performance and quality the way the Fusion does, even though it is true that hyundai has made HUGE strides lately.

@dISA
I would go for the Fusion, aside from personal preferences about styling I have little doubt that Ford builds a better vehicle.

I think they could have left 6" off the wrap around headlights but aside from that it's definitely a looker.
Once the Elantra gets it's redesign they'll have a top to bottom lineup thats more exiciting than anything Toyota or Honda can spit out.

Excellent styling, though it looks bigger than the outgoing model which I just purchased. I hope it doesn't get to be too much of a pig, or the gas mileage may suffer, which is one of the current Sonata's strong points.

@WS:
Apparently the new FWD transmission Hyundai developed for the Sonata gives a 15% better MPG rating compared to the last model. That should give them some room to play, I'm just wondering if they're going to match or beat the 268 hp of the Camry and Accord. Its like Toyota and Honda called a truce in the sedan hp wars.
