But wait, isn't this thing still FWD? What a shame.

They could at the very least have built a coupe body for it instead of using what looks like the convertible body with a tacked on "coupe" top.
I bet this special edition will be a few K's more expensive than the regular mini. Not cool.

@Mazda6
Exactly. That's my problem with all the Mini variants. The formula is take a Mini chop the top add new top = new car...
Lame people. They could have at least redesigned the rear fenders and trunk to give it a more rounded look. No no, that's not Mini enough I guess...
I love the classic Mini if you will, but the variants can all burn.

honestly, you can complain all you want about how the roof is all thats different, but i like it...alot! its just got a slightly more sporty look to it, and i would get it if i was in the market.

I'd definitely buy one of these. More aerodynamic and probably a bit lighter than the regular Mini.

I don't care if it's still FWD, I'd buy it. At least it doesn't look like a chicks car any more.

@ 426Hemi
I'm sure that's what the commuter chicks are saying.
The Mini website is funny. It shows "sparks" coming off the rear tires of a FWD car.

I don't think it makes enough power for the front wheels to even care. It'll still handle. I think around 260bhp is when the fwd layout gives up the ghost. Anything below that and you could trick it to do wonderful things. Look at how the 300bhp Ford Focus RS turned out.

Added: Ugly
Removed: Utility
Unchanged: Performance.
The roof design doesn't look finished. Actually, it hardly even looks 'started.' Like someone in the design department said "what if we do this?" and slapped a Miata's removable hard top onto a convertible mini's roof. And then they used EXACTLY that, rather than refining it.
I like the Mini. I wouldn't buy, but do see the attraction of, the Clubman. But this? No thanks.
