VW Invests $1 Billion in Mexico Plant for New Model

A company spokesperson recently told Reuters that VW is going to invest $1 billion in its Mexico plant to build a new model that will launch in early 2010.

Currently the plant produces Jettas, Boras and New Beetles.

"The production of the new model will start in March or April of 2010," spokeswoman Consuelo Minutti said.

Minutti did not disclose which new vehicle VW plans to produce at the plant.
