Upcoming MINI Crossover to be Dubbed the Countryman?

Spy photos of MINI's upcoming crossover, which is based on the also new BMW X1 have been all over the place lately. Although the crossover has been confirmed and is expected to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September, we have yet to learn what the crossover is going to be named...until now. It looks like BMW AG (parent company of BMW and MINI) has officially registered the "Countryman" name for trademark for the new MINI crossover.

In the past the Countryman name was used for long-wheelbase versions of the Cooper in specific markets.

So what the hell is the clubman? God...I think mini's are cool and all, but this whole variant on a theme has got to stop. At least Porsche made an actual SUV, not a 911 on steroids...
