Jaguar took the wraps off the 2010 XJ last week in London and according to the automaker there have already been at least 55 pre-orders.

55 orders in a matter of days may not seem like much, but according to Jaguar that is about the same numbers it received when the XF was unveiled. Some of the orders were placed at the XJ's launch at the Saatchi Gallery in London last week and the rest have come from people who haven't even seen the car in person. Production is expected to start this fall, with sales starting in January.

Looks a little Bentley GT Continental"ish" to me, but with 4 doors. "Not that there's anything wrong with that......."

Noya:

Not very impressive considering how proud the English are of their own crappy marques.

The worst is on Top Gear, when Clarkson pushes Aston's and Jag's in comparisons with Ferrari's and AMG Mercedes.

gilly:

truth be told...the car looks pretty bad ass...at least from the outside

this car is beautiful . it is a rolling work of art and the best looking sedan ever made by jaguar . if jag keeps designing machines this classy , they will be back on top in a very short while . my congratulations to the the team that created the new 2010 xj . i won't even bother to ask what it costs . but i am curious if it will be north of 100 grand usd .

WareWolF:

I disagree.... Looks like a streched buick with a chrysler 300 grille.

I don't know why, but it doesn't look 'jaguar'y to me. But then that's been true for a while. The Jaguars and Aston Martins have visually merged to my eye.

This? It looks nice, but it also looks kinda normal. Jaguars need something outlandish, something that makes you say that it isn't a 'normal' car. Maybe it's different when seen in person?
