BMW unveiled the 5 Series Gran Turismo concept at the Geneva Motor Show now we have our first unofficial look at the production version.
As expected the production version remains mostly true to the concept, but with a much more toned down interior. Expect the production version to have its official world debut sometime later this year.

my one word:
fugly.
Maybe by some miracle, it'll look better in person.
The previous seven series BMW was a love it or hate it car, but it sold more than any other 7 series in history, so I'm guessing that it must have looked better in person than the pictures I'd seen of it. That or BMW drivers don't care about looks, and only buy a new one because well "the new car smell is out of my old one."

For some reason, this design strikes me as more Japanese than European. Take off that crease in the side profile, the kidney grille, and the badges - that could very well be a Lexus or an Infinity.

Except, you can take off the crease, grille and badges on this BMW and you still have the heart, soul and excitement of a BMW. Put on a crease, change the grille and change badges on a Lexus or Infinity and you still have the heart, soul and excitement of a Toyota or Nissan.
