Lamborghini Estoque Four-Door Reportedly Killed

lamborghini_estoque_concept_new.jpg
Autocar is reporting that Lamborghini has shelved plans to build the Estoque four-door concept, an apparent victim of the current economic situation.

Maurizio Reggiani, Lamorghini's head of research and development stated "The timing and market conditions are just not right for an additional model line."

The Estoque concept was a four door, four seat concept that featured a front/mid engine layout with standard all-wheel-drive.

According to Reggiani, the Estoque has been put on hold for the time being, which means that the project could be restarted once the economy improves.

what!?

Andrew :

It would have been fine if it was priced at $30,000 - $45,000.

It isn't worth anymore than that!

WAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

Bradford:

Good! Just another bad concept. Like the concept of sticking a truck bed on a hummer H3. O wait. Too late!

2 different things, duh, but both bad ideas.

If Lambroghini actually produced this car, I think their appeal would have taken a small hit. I mean seriously, whats the point to this car? The appeal? What is the company trying to accomplish by letting this out on the market? What kinda owners are they trying to target? Finally, whats its competition? Hey Lamborghini, it was a nice thought, "A" for effort, but please keep this shelved.

There are just so many vehicles that leave me wondering why or what if...

A 4 door jeep Wrangler...

Hummer H3T[ruck]...

Hummer H2... really? AND without a diesel option!?!

The Ford Excursion?... with V-10 option... [7,000 pound weight, 19 feet long]

2002-2005 Ford Thunderbird...

[I liked the Pontiac Azteck. So ugly and unique I thought they were cool.]

Plymouth/Chrysler Prowler... [bad looks, no manual transmition option, only a 3.5 V-6 engine]

Explorer Sport Track? Why not make it a crew cab Ranger and redesign the Ranger accordingly [give the Tacoma a run for its money]...

Suzuki X-90. Any body remember these? HaHaHaHaHaHa

[I liked the Chevy SSR]

Jaguar X- Type [what a joke]

Yugo!

I once heard rumors about a 4 door Corvette? Any body else hear em too? ...

Just stick to what you know Lamborghini. Making bad ass 2 doors!!

Bradford:

Sorry for being a negative nancy.. but a 4 door Lamborghini.... NO!

Luis:

Honestly, i never liked the car design and even the name. The car looks to me like the front of a Ferrari with exagerated big air entries and at the rear like a Mitsubishi Lancer without the aileron...
The name Estoque is really a bad name. (I don't like also the Panamera name... seems pretty much an 80's cocktail drink name!).

This news will leave the supercar brand market splitted between Porsche Panamera and Maserati Quattroporte. (Not counting Mercedes CLS which it's not a supercar brand).

gm0n3y:

4 Door != Lambo, the universe has returned to normalcy.

Patrick:

but I wanted to go 140mph with the babies in the back!!!
