Acura has officially announced the ZDX name for its upcoming "four-door sport coupe" prototype that will be unveiled at the 2009 New York Auto Show.
"The ZDX prototype is unlike anything you have ever seen before from Acura," said Jeff Conrad, vice president, Acura sales. "The prototype showcases a new level of luxury, style and refinement for Acura and speaks volumes towards our commitment to advancing the brand."
The production version of the ZDX...Acura's X6-fighter will be released this fall.

Acura announced it will debut a prototype of the all-new ZDX luxury four-door sport coupe at the New York International Auto Show. The prototype features striking coupe-like styling with the added benefit of a commanding presence and flexible utility to define a new luxury category.

The ZDX prototype will be introduced at the New York International Auto Show on April 8, 2009 at 11:00 am in the Acura booth.

Looks kinda Porsche-ish, though with 4 doors it will probably look terrible. Nice to see that Acura hasn't completely abandoned the idea of anything remotely resembling "sporty" (though you wouldn't guess it with their current lineup)..
Oh and I still have the term "coupe" being mixed with "4-door".

And what engine will it use? A V6 or the turbo 2.3L from the MDX?

So can we assume it won't be a 4-door car with a front mount V6/I4 and FWD or SH-AWD a la the RL, TL, TSX, CSX, EL, Legend, Vigor...?
