Earlier this week reports surfaced that Suzuki had killed the Kizashi midsize sedan that was supposed to be released later this year. Now Suzuki has answered those reports by stating that they are false.

“The production version will debut at this year’s New York auto show in April,” Jeff Holland, spokesman for American Suzuki Motor Corp., told Automotive News.

The car and all its official details will be unveiled at that time.

At least one of the vehicles that were rumored to being killed is untrue. Now if only those reports that came out yesterday from Honda were only untrue as well...

Sandman:

I haven't seen a Suzuki on the road in forever. This however would be a welcome site.

Remyj:

Woo hoo! Back in the game... I have been watching what little news there has been on this car since mid last year and was seriously bummed when I read yesterday it was a victim of the times. Now if I can only figure out how to talk them into offering a proper manual transmission along side the auto tranny they have already decided on. Assuming it is not too big and not too heavy and retains the GM 3.6 liter V6......... we've got the makings of an interesting sports sedan.

macer1:

like the styling of the suzuki SUV's that are available here in canada. the grand vatara and XL7 are just sexy.

this car is a nice addition.

Brain:

I wonder if they would help design the engine for it? Yamaha helped design the 2ZZ-GE (Celica GTS in the states) engine and it was a pretty nice design. Suzuki has a good bike reputation, their input on a high output 4 cyl might be worth something...
