Bentley has released a single teaser image of its upcoming biofuel car that will be officially unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show.
Bentley hasn't released the official name of the car or any specs. According to Bentley the car will be Bentley's fastest, most powerful production car to date that also happens to run on biofuel.
Currently the most powerful car in the Bentley lineup is the Continental GT Speed with 600 horsepower and 553 lb-ft. of torque. So you can expect even higher numbers for this car.
Bentley plans on releasing a full-range of flex-fuel engines by 2012.

Does anyone really care that a 600hp luxury, most powerful Bentley production car to date runs on biofuel?
"Excuse me Sir, do you have any Gray Poupon?"
"Why certainly, do you know my car is running on biofuel too?"
Excellent car thou...

I hope the days of clean, cheap, CHEAP(!) fuel comes soon. My wallet can't take much more of a beating.

To Sparky
Yeah actually we should care because by using biofuel like E85, Bently will be able to pass CAFE standard

@zard:
I saw a pretty good documentary about using the waste products of corn and grass in making biofuel to help reduce the demand of using corn (food) itself. So there is progress.
But, at 600hp, I don't think the gas mileage is going to be very good. Can it justify the CAFE standard at a low (assuming) mpg? (or would that be called mpbg?)
But hey, it's a Bently.

Just a vehicle to make the filthy rich think they are doing something worthwhile for the planet. Probably will be parked in the air conditioned and heated 10 car garage of a 15,000 square foot house. But it's green!

@ sparky
I don't know the exact formula used in CAFE but if that bentley uses E85 and let's say it gets about 12mpg EPA, then CAFE will bump its mileage to about 20 to 25mpg, which is still below 35mpg but bentley will get significantly less fine.

the mathematical formula CAFE is using already give good benefit to cars using biofuel but i hope they give more benefit so that we can have V-8 and V-10 forever instead of boring electric motors...
idea of having high performance internal combustion engine while keeping the planet green is fantastic.

oh i just have remembered that Bentley belongs to VW so it's VW's average fleet mpg that Bentley should concern in order to pass CAFE standard...
