2010 Audi A5/S5 Cabriolet Unveiled...Too Bad its Winter

2010_audi_a5_cabriolet11.jpg
Just in time for winter, Audi has unveiled the Cabriolet versions of the A5 and S5.

For 2010 Audi is going to release drop top versions of its beautiful A5 and S5 coupes. But unlike BMW, Infiniti and Lexus, these drop tops will feature a fabric top. It's obvious that a soft top saves more weight over a metal folding top and also saves some cargo space, but its definitely not as nice to look at when the top is up.

The 2010 Audi A5 Cabriolet will be powered by either the 2.0L TFSI four-cylinder or the 3.2 FSI V6 engine. The S5 coupe is currently powered by 4.2L V8 that it will keep until the end of the 2010 model year, but the S5 Cabriolet is already making the switch to the smaller engine with the 3.0L TFSI V6 that is also in the S4.

The 2010 Audi A5/S5 Cabriolet will be available in the fall of 2009.

sparky:

An upscale, and nutured, Mustang GT convertable...

will:

to sparky:

Mustang is not a luxury car, so many high school kidz have it, compare to A5/S5, its is like a poor man's coupe

lowest iq:

fully agree, an audi is a poor mans mercedes.

bobby:

I'd rather have an Audi than a Mercedes. At least Audi offers stick shift and double clutch gearboxes. Mercedes reputation as a drivers car is nearly obsolete.

They can keep their convertible though.

Mech:

I am poor, give me one. Now. Please. S5 if you have.

K5:

Tell me someone did not just put a pos mustang on the same board as an audi...unreal.

sparky:

As I said (If you would READ my post rather than instantly flame), An upscale, and nutured, Mustang GT convertable...

As far as putting a 'pos mustang' on the same board as an audi, here is a car that has all the latest V6 turbo crap with more rated horsepower, etc. etc., and it can't keep up to 0-60 and top speed performance from a "pos" Mustang for 1/2 the price. LOL.

You guys crack me up.

VWGTI:

better get a Ford now before it goes under

gm0n3y:

Ugly. I like the hard tops, but the convertibles are no.

Dear Sparky::

There is more to a fine automobile than straight line speed. Some day when your balls drop you will understand. By the way, it's spelled "convertible" - with an "i" not an "a". I could forgive the first error as a potential typo, but the second error reveals that you simply do not know how to spell the word.

Saheed:

@Sparky

You made a good point! I agree with you!!!

@Dear Sparky

Hey wise guy, who do you think you are, the grammar patrol?

lowest iq:

i think i'll wait till the white trash has bought their mustangs and are about to default on their payments....

Sparky:

lowest iq;

I could buy a new S5 and the GT-500 every year on my income. And you know what? I bought a GT convertible (yes 'dear sparky', I know). Why? Cause it's fun and lot's of custom aftermarket options to play with (like 450HP turbo kit for $4k). It does pound my low hangers a little, but that's fun too :)

Dear Sparky:

But if I wanted to make a point about not having any balls (yes 'dear sparky', I'm amazed by your creative wit), then I would buy this car which I still think looks like a nutured GT convertible. Think my mom would like this Audi more than my Mustang, but she is 89 and can't drive anyway.

K5:

Yeah, there's a reason why a mustang is half the price of the audi. Kind of like there's a reason why the "Big 3" is on the downfall. How long can one survive on trying to sell garbage?

sil40dori:

Numbers are definitely not that important a thing about a car. All that matters (if you enjoy driving and arent just A to B) is how much fun it is.

For instance, while I haven't driven a Mustang Vert or this Audi, I have driven a Miata and S2000. Both of which are amazingly fun. The Miata is a bit more so actually. Go drive one, and tell me you didn't have fun (if you can fit in it lol). In fact, drive a first gen MR2 (AW11)--one of the most enjoyable cars I've driven ever.

Thats all I care about cars, are they fun to drive or not. Other than that..whats the point?

PS: Just saying in case someone wants to make a big deal about it: This is my personal opinion and I enjoy the art of driving. I realize not everyone does so in the same manner or does at all. But I figure a vert is supposed to be more of a fun car than just to get you to work and back...not that you can't make that drive fun =)

426Hemi:

@K5

And that "POS" Mustang has been selling for how long now?

Dear Sparky::

It's:
