More Photos of the 2010 Toyota Prius Show up on the Web

More photos of the next-gen 2010 Toyota Prius are showing up on the internet. A few weeks ago the first photos of the new Prius leaked onto PriusChat and were confirmed to be accurate photos by Toyota.

The 2010 Prius is set for a world debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January. What we do know about the new hybrid is that it will keep its iconic shape with a slightly larger body and more distinct nose. Inside there is an all-new dash design that looks far more complicated than the current generation.

The 2010 Prius is also expected to be more powerful and at the same time achieve better gas mileage.

1st.
well looks like a nice evolution of the current model.

CS:

It's still monkey butt-ugly.

Jay:

Folks this right here is the reason that chrysler, ford and gm are falling on there ass. If you look at the chrysler brand that encludes dodge and jeep they dont have one single car that gets 30 mpg or more. Atleast toyota, nissan and honda can make a car worth a damn. At 33 mpg or more the BIG 3 should be Honda Toyota and Nissan

hik:

If this is the real deal, then its one fugly car...why can't Toyota copy their own model right, i mean when i saw the new Honda insight i thought it was the new Prius.

upL8N8:

To Jay:

Should a Jeep really get 30 mpg?? If there's a single car I'd expect to not get 30, it would be a jeep.

macer1:

to Jay:

did you forget the caliber , avenger both get 30 mpg

as for a jeep's SUV's Compass & Patriot get 28 mpg for a SUV

i dont like chrysler or any of its brands but i just hate people who dont look things up before they speak "Jay"

adrian:

nice, but i still like the simplicity of a small diesel engine in a car like what they do in europe.

Jay:

To Macer1:
ill tell u what, they say that they get 30 mpg but they dont i sell all the chrysler brands and the caliber and avenger say that but they don't. They are also very under powered for what they are. The best u will get on them is 27 mpg if your lucky. In order for you to get the most gas milage in a caliber u need to get the 2.0L motor that is just to small of a motor to move the hunk of metel. The funny thing is the compass and the patriot is the 2.4L that allows you to get a possible 24 mpg and if you belive the sticker mpg' your a Idiot. Just for your Information "Macer1" Oh and by the way did u forget about the p.t cruiser 21 mpg with the 2.4L in case you where wondering.

gm0n3y:

meh

Jay: Ya, everything but Honda, Toyota, and Nissan are pieces of crap. Japan makes excellent cars, clearly superior to anything ever made in America. No American car has, does, or ever will compete. In fact, anyone who buys american are fools.

Whatever... jeez...

JB:

@ Jay-

Jay, GM makes several cars that get over 30 mpg. Hell, my 2007 Impala will get 31 mpg on the interstate at 75 mph, which is above its EPA estimate.

Also, hybrids aren't the massive sellers you think they are. Even with gasoline at $4/gallon, GM was selling twice as many trucks as ALL hybrids being sold on the market combined. Some people actually have brains and do the math and realize that many of these hybrids won't pay back before they trade them in on something else. Many of the hybrids have paybacks of 150,000 miles or more.

Plus, if you have a family of four, a Prius isn't going to be big enough to move those 4 people and all of their junk around. A Corvette has as much cargo room as a Prius.

And you talk about some of the Dodge/Chrysler models being underpowered...and you're praising the Prius? Have you ever driven one?

Damn people, pull your heads out of your asses and take a look around for a minute.

426Hemi:

Gas is more like $2/gallon here on the coast of Oragen.

most of the ppl that bought the trucks were businesses using them as commercial trucks. thats the only reason y ford has the best selling truck. there bottom line is the cheapest of all the full sized trucks. ppl that dont tow, haul, or go off road really aint buyin trucks anymore. my friends 07 Ram is terrible when it comes to fuel consumption. 250 out of 22 gallons of gas in 80/20 freeway/city. thats about 12 mpg. thats almost H2 territory. y would u drive something like this as your daily? if u need a truck those 2 days out of the year, go to home depot and rent theirs for a couple hrs. and quit braggin ford. if ure truck didnt have commercial buyers, ya'lld be as bad in sells as the titan.

a prius has more cargo room then a corvette.

hybrids arnt exactly slow. the new highlander hybrids dont have the go-go in them as say a Cheroke SRT-8, but off the line, put the petal to the ground and u will LAUNCH. there awesome. I got a green 08.

A partiot will get 30mpg on the interstate at 60 mph with ac off more then likely. I mean, if my old ford explorer v-6 which had 175,xxx miles on it could get 25mpg straight intersate going 65 on cruise....

a ford ranger will last as long as a honda civic, but you gotta baby it a little more. In other words do the big 30, 60, and 90,000 repair plans. my uncles ranger has 370,xxx miles and my buds del sol has 340,xxx miles and they both run fine.

the best cars on the road to buy to me are the yaris and the jetta TDI. The V-dub will easily get 40 on the freeway with that little diesel and the yaris will push it too, plus the yaris only costs like 15 grand AND ITS A TE-OTA . The biggest joke is the Tahoe hybrid. I mean really. an increase of 2-5 mpg and the base price for one is 56 grand. just buy the 5.3 gas and get a cobalt for that much.

Bradford:

and yea the new yaris looks like ass. i mean, them over streached tail lights, the side view, that front bumper. Does that thing run on strawberry juice? Just get a yaris which is 15,000 dollars cheaper and can still achive 40 mpg
