Lexus has confirmed that the all-new 2010 RX will be unveiled next week at the LA Auto Show.

The 2010 RX will come in two versions, the RX 350 that is powered by a 3.5L V6 and the hybrid RX 450h. Recent photo renderings of the new crossover show an overall shape that is very similar to the current generation.

Lexus is also going to unveil the IS 250 C and IS 350 C convertible models at the show. The IS 250 C was recently unveiled at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. The IS convertible models feature the same engines as the sedans, plus a lightweight aluminum three-panel roof.

The all-wheel-drive versions of the LS 460 and LS 460 L will also be on hand for the show.

PRESS RELEASE:

Lexus to Debut 2010 RX at the Los Angeles Auto Show

TORRANCE (Nov. 11, 2008) – Lexus will stage the world premiere of the all-new 2010 RX 450h hybrid and RX 350 luxury utility vehicles at a press conference at the upcoming 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 19.

The next generation RX models will raise the bar above the current best-selling products by offering outstanding luxury, comfort, technology, safety and efficiency.

Recently revealed at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, the 2010 IS convertible will make its North American debut at the show. The IS 250C and IS 350C convertibles feature a lightweight aluminum three-panel roof that opens in just seconds. They feature the same powertrains as the IS sedans: the IS 250C receives a 2.5-liter, 204-hp V6 mated to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission; and the IS 350C contains a 3.5-liter, 306-hp V6 with a six-speed automatic.

Also making their first appearance are the 2009 Lexus LS 460 and LS 460 L all-wheel drive (AWD) luxury sedans. Available in both standard and long wheelbase, they utilize a highly compact center TORSEN® Limited-Slip Differential (LSD) that optimally distributes drive torque between the front and rear wheels, thus helping to ensure excellent traction performance and driving stability.

The RX press conference will be held on Wednesday, November 19, at 1:20 p.m. PST in the Lexus display area at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

D!:

I like the RX's current shape so the fact that the exteriour is only receiving a mild update is good. The interior should be overhauled though as technology changes so quickly that the current interior was probably getting to be dated a bit.

I don't really have much to say about the IS convertible. Toyota probably just made it to go head to head with the G37 and BMW 3-Series convertible.

First =)

This thing looks so proportional with the top down. The a$$ of this thing is too big.

I kinda agree in that it's a mild update, but seriously, Corolla headlights on an RX? Toyota's designers have been failing ever since the new Camry, with the exception of the IS sedan (don't get me wrong, my family owns 3 Toyotas, we love the cars); with that headlight/grille, it looks exactly like the Toyota Venza, not something I want to think when I buy a Lexus
and the IS's a$$ is a bit.. enlarged compared to the sedan, from the doors backward, the car looks like its been stretched, that side profile view doesnt look that good, and the IS250/350 is one of the best looking cars ever IMO

D!:

The headlights do have a Corollaesque shape but it's still good looking IMO. I actually like the new Camry (only the SE model though). I guess it's one of those love it hate it design changes. I don't think the grill looks like the Venza's though, that grill is butt-fugly along with the rest of the car.

As I stated before, I don't have much to say about the IS convertible. I do agree with you that it's current iteration is one of the best looking cars out from any angle. From the pics the car looks like the SC430 now, which is probably why it's been discontinued.
