Nissan is going to officially unveil the all-new 2009 Nissan 370Z at the LA Auto Show next week, but some of the specs been trickling out.
Thanks to the LA Auto Show website we now know that the final horsepower rating for the 3.7L V6 is 332 horsepower. The engine can either be mated to a new 7-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual. The new Z also has a shorter wheelbase than the current generation and more lightweight pieces to keep the vehicle's overall weight in check.
Stay tuned for all the details from the show next week.

well not the 350 hp that was floating around the internet, and no mention of the weight, but a 7 speed automatic is a good start, as is a shorter wheelbase. I can't wait till next week to see if I'll be trying to sell my 2003.

Keep your '03 this car is butt ugly. The Maxima treatment they gave it really calls Nissan's taste level into question.

I wonder if the suspension is as punishing as the reviews of the current model. Might be fun to drive around, but what I read is that it is not comfortable as a daily driver.
Pumpkin interior, and bug-eyed guages are unique..

I totally agree with "D!" , this maxima treatment is ugly as hell, eventho the extra power is nice enough but they killed it in the exterior

I like the new headlights. I didn't like it initially, but the more I see it, the more fluid it looks, and works well with the overall shape and theme of the car.
Thumbs up!

I'll still wait until I see the car in person. I've seen the new Maxima's in person though, infact I saw one last night and they're definitely Nissan's retarded, molested, Rocky from the movie "Mask", step-child who's been further beaten with an ugly-stick, and then disposed in waste so toxic even when Kwame, Wheeler, Linka, Gi, and Ma-Ti combine their powers and call Captian Planet, he can't save it, version of a four door sports car.

Maybe it'll grow on me...who knows, you've got to keep your optomism in regards to these things.

What you mean this is ugly? This car is stunning, look at the lines and that rear window which is total resemblance to the days of the 260/280z, If I can't get my GTR I'll settle for one of these, nuff said.

Looks like they got styling cues off the Cayenne. Wrong move there.

I for one like the styling and would definitely be interested if I wasn't a poor college kid trying to take care of a family...

Not sure I like the headlights, but they definitely don't ruin the rest of the car for me. Its still a sexy beast.

What the heck people... for years you complain of manufacturers making cars fatter, and when one makes it faster, more agile, AND smaller/lighter, you diss it still.
Goodness, I say kudos to Nissan for doing what every other manufacturer failed to do.
Anyway, I wonder how small it really is... if it is truly a small car, I kind of wish I would have waited for it before buying this MINI S, at least so I could test drive the Z. Don't get me wrong, the MINI Cooper S is the funnest car I've ever driven, but a small RWD car like this might take the cake, if done right.
I love small cars...

Will be interesting to see how the Genesis Coupe compares to this. While the new Z looks to have a clear power advantage, the Genesis Coupe will likely be considerably cheaper, will certainly be built better, & offer a 4 cyl detuned Evo engine in the base model.
Interesting times ahead.

I was really interested in this car when it still had the spy camouflage over the head/tailights. I can see why they kept them covered so as not to kill interest in the car. I really like all the rest of the design and the fact that it is smaller and lighter, it's just the headlights look so ridiculous, like someone putting Z3 fender gills on their civic... It just kills it for me.
