Last week we saw our first glimpses of the production version of the Chevy Volt on the set of Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. GM has released a few teaser photos, but the grainy pics from last week were much better...Now to coincide with GM's 100th anniversary, GM is going to officially unveil their most highly anticipated new model.
GM has revealed to the Automotive News today, that the Volt will be unveiled this month as part of GM's 100-anniversary celebration. The official celebration dates are Sept 15 and 16th, so expect the car to be unveiled on one of those two days.

I see the front end and all I can think is Malibu....
What the hell happened to bumpers? They used to actually look good on cars. Now everything is smooth, flat, and has sharp angles in it...
I'd love to see real chrome make a come back, but heaven forbid...that would cost money.

So by the looks of the 'spontaneous' folding of the sheet, I can only guess a little more than 1/2 of the front was uncovered, and some clever person just mirrored the most visible half to create a 'whole' picture. Clever, clever...

I hope this car will work as advertised. Already more exciting and desireable than all the foreign hybrid junk combined.
And, yup, they mirrored the picture..

@ Brian
Its called aerodynamics and fuel economy. Chrome is heavy which is why its gone for the most part. I loved my all steel chrome bumper on my 77 impala but it weighed over 100 lbs. Real steel and chrome is gone for the sake of fuel economy. Of course you can't bump anything at over 5 mph anymore without incurring a $1000 repair bill either.

Who is taking these pictures? Are they using an old Kodak 110 camera to take them with? Even shitty cell phones take better pictures.

I'll give chevy props they needed something like the volt baddly. Now as for the looks of the car? It'sn ot bad, a matter of fact from what i can see it's pretty decent looking. As far as how well it will sell? time will tell, but this thing is better then any of their current models, that's for sure.
