Hyundai has partnered with Street Concepts to create a modified Genesis Coupe for the 2008 SEMA show in Las Vegas.

The Street Concepts Genesis Coupe will debut at the SEMA show on November 4, 2008 alongside other coupes designed by Rhys Millen and HKS.

“Its aggressive, powerful design and high performance attributes make the Genesis Coupe a perfect vehicle for SEMA,” said Shawn Williams, owner, Street Concepts. “We plan to maximize the driving capabilities of the Genesis Coupe while striving for a level of practicality so that average consumers can take ideas from our vehicle and adapt it to their own.”

The Street Concepts Genesis Coupe is painted in a black camouflage paint and features a custom grille, tinted headlights and an APR rear wing. The concept will also feature Volk 19 inch wheels, performance tires, a modified suspension and Brembo brakes. A cold air intake system and Magnaflow cat-back exhaust have also been added.

PRESS RELEASE:

Hyundai Motor America announced that it is partnering with Street Concepts, one of the leading developers of auto show vehicles, to create a modified Genesis Coupe for the 2008 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show. The all-new, rear-wheel drive Street Concepts Genesis Coupe will make its SEMA Show debut at the Las Vegas Convention Center on November 4, 2008. The Street Concepts Genesis Coupe will join vehicles designed by Rhys Millen and HKS as the third Genesis Coupe scheduled to appear at SEMA.

The Street Concepts Genesis Coupe will be outfitted with a black camouflage, stealth fighter-inspired paint design that compliments its styling. The exterior will also feature a custom grille design, tinted taillights and an APR rear wing.

“From its inception, Genesis Coupe was developed with the tuner buyer in mind. The Street Concepts vehicle accentuates the core DNA of the product, born from enthusiast driver demands,” said Derek Joyce, Genesis Coupe product manager, Hyundai Motor America. “The three Genesis Coupes scheduled to be displayed at the SEMA Show exemplify the tuner-based performance potential of the vehicle.”

The Street Concepts Genesis Coupe will showcase Volk 19-inch racing wheels, performance tires, a modified suspension and Brembo brakes. A Magnaflow cat-back exhaust and cold air intake system will enhance the performance of the 3.8-liter V6 engine.

Interior modifications include carbon fiber dashboard accents, a custom Infinity audio system, Cobra seats and black suede accents designed to fit the stealth jet fighter theme.

RX-7 Guy:

How to rice 101 featured at SEMA.

JadeTalon:

Kids, let this just be a lesson to you.

Just say "NO" to GT-Wings.

Ross:

@JadeTalon

Dude, you know nutin' man. GT wings keep me sweet ride planted. The owners manual says its a civic, but you wouldnt know that cuz i took off the [H] 's in the front and back. My exhaust is completely custom. Even though coming off the manifold, the pipe is only 1 1/4", but to have the 4" exhaust in the back lets it breath man... plus, when i am doing 140 down main street, drag racing, i need that wing to give me maximum traction so i dont spin my front tires.. or is that the other way around?? I dont know, my friends at autozone said it helps!

optimummind:

Wow, compared to the other tuners, this one is ugly.

Jung:

Rice is tasty, but this ain't.

J-Rod:

@ Ross

The wing isn't going to help you during first gear and second, and I doubt your Civic is strong enough to spin your front tires at 60 MPH switching to third, probably a little "chirp" but thats it, take that wing off and sell it to a 16 year old with a Tercel.

BTW were not retared, we would know your car is a civic just by hearing the rice that comes out of it.

HERE COMES THE HONNNNONONONONDAAAAA!!!

go to wikipedia and look up "sarcasm"

SEALBoy:

They ruined a nice car...

unknown:

sweet they did all teh mods for me, Now I get maximum downforce at 25mph for all that traction im going to need with 8 cars in front of me at the stop light. In all seriousness it doesnt look to bad without the wing.

Mochiex2:

LOL....G35?

Mochiex2:

LOL....G35?

Gary:

The orange and carbon fiber concept they released looked good, but this thing is a bit on the ugly side.

Stig:

obviously designed by a 10 yr old ... this thing should have a age limit of 19

Jason:

As much as we hate it on here, there is a larger collective group of fanboys, posers, and teenagers that think the car looks good.

Sammy:

Yeah, I agree, its a little over done - especially with the wing and the camo paint - but at least the theme is original. As it states in the article, the Genesis Coupe was designed with the tuner buyer in mind - and the majority of the tuner market consists of young adults...why would one be surprised that the mods have a younger generation taste?? Morons...

Cashmoney:

Are people still into tuner cars? I thought it was out of style now. That car is a bit mixed up though with the VIP wheels in the back. I think that there are only a few steps necessary to make it look good again. Take off the wing, take off the headlight film, paint it black and its good to go.

sil40dori:

Volk TE37s (Time Attack Editions) hardly constitute as "VIP wheels". Try looking up some Work Eurolines or SSR Vienna's...

Overall the car looks a bit flashy, but its for SEMA...what do you expect? Hyundai is trying to get noticed...by guys like the Unique Autosport owner LOL. And I would say its barely original...Black/Red (especially the black rims with red lip) is a scheme that is COMPLETELY played out. Its the new Black/polished lip.

This is why I don't buy any asian sports cars post mid-90's.

lolwow:

Sammy:

@sil40dori:

The stealth fighter theme my friend - no shi*t the black and red color scheme has already been done - i'm talking about the rest of the details....wow!

gm0n3y:

I know I'm weird, but I actually like the camo paint. Of course I also have a friend who painted his early 80s civic to look like the vehicle from Jurassic Park (complete with door logo) and another with a Montreal Canadiens painted car (and he doesn't live anywhere near Montreal).

sil40dori:

Maybe its just the sub-culture (drifting) I am actively involved in, but the camo paint and/or "stealth fighter" (subjective) look is still nothing new. I have seen many cars with all different types of camo schemes as well as fighter jet themes (including "Pull Before Flight" tabs and such).

I'm not saying Hyundai should have done something different and original, just saying what was done isn't that unique...but some of you old fogies maybe weren't aware of that =P

RX-7 Guy:

I do like what they did with the wheels and ride height.

joly:

camo anything doesnt make it stealth. i think of stealth as something that gets by without being noticed. such is the idea of a sleeper. i work on fighter jets for a living so i know what makes a jet stealth and what doesnt. something flying in the air painted camo anything isnt stealth. a car painted camo anything is still going to get noticed. wanna make a fighter jet theme, get your face out of the movies and off the internet and go to an afb. right now i work on f-16s in arizona, i know what a figher jet looks like and that pos isnt it.

KSwitch:

@Joly:

We're all very proud of you that you work on fighter jets for a living - let me see if I can find a cookie for you.

Seriously, how close do you think a car can get to becoming an actual "stealth fighter". It seems to me you're ability to read and comprehend is below par - its a concept theme. I hope your skills around the fighter jet is a little better than your ability to read...is this what the government is enlisting to work on our defense equipment? America...we're in trouble.

RX-7 Guy:

Maybe the paint is radar/laser absorbent...

Ross:

@ RX-7 Guy

Oh it is, and the camo is great for when you go deer hunting at night with a spotlight. Too bad the exhaust can be heard for 10 miles..

Damn ricers, and their music, scaring the deer!

Todd Graham:

looks like a G 35 with a wing lol way to go Hyundai haha

rice is nice but my 383 is better
