We've seen so many photos of the new Chevy Camaro, but very few of the SS variant. Last week a batch of un-official photos surfaced on the internet, but now GM has released the first official photo of the Chevy Camaro SS.
We already know most, if not all the details about the SS version of the new Camaro including the 422 horsepower 6.3L LS3 V8.

I think the only big problem with the car is that its already 3 years old in the minds of the consumer. We first heard about it three years ago, saw it in theaters last year, and will see it again one more time in Transformers 2 before we can buy it.
So when it comes out, it'll already have old looking styling. In other words, it needs a refresh much sooner than usual to keep it fresh.
It'd of been better if GM had tested the platform underneath a Pontiac GTO body for these past three to four years, and then unveiled the styling closer to launch.

The grill looks so cheap! Too much black plastic... I like the rest of the car though. I would love to race it with my grand national!

As Joe Consumer that isn't following the car industry like an enthusiest, I have to agree with others here...I was interested in this car, but it's so old in my mind, I've lost interest.

Are they going to have room on the lot for the now old Camaro and all the vehicles they didn't sell this year ? I've seen 10,000 pics of the damn thing over the years (sounds almost surreal), anyone think they'll sell 10,000 units in that same timeframe ?
Imagine the incentives. Employee pricing, free gas until 2020, 5K rebate, plus Transformers 1 and 2 on DVD. Act now and we'll throw in a starving UAW employee to wash her on weekends.
I honestly cannot take these Torque Report Camaro articles seriously anymore. My eyes are glazed over with boredom about this vehicle, so can't even tell what differentiates this SS from the others. An emblem ? Body line ? What ?

I think the "starving" UAW is going to be a grossly-overpaid/overweight slob who will actually own you as a slave.
What a horrific stereotype. I'm sorry. I'm going to McDonald's now...

@ Trooper Bri
"Employee pricing..."
They actually have a few Z06's in stock in my city with "employee pricing" knocking over $20k off the price. Funny, their current Halo sports car getting marked down like it's a Cobalt...

I thought there was an offical photo a couple weeks ago? I'm interested to see what these will actually sell for...and what the resale value will be after the first hurricane hits the Gulf Coast next year and gas is over $5/gal.

Let me guess,
Tomorrow we get pictures of a Red one,
the day after a Black one,
then a Pink one,
then a Yellow one.......weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!
No wonder GM can't make a profit.
They are making photographs, not cars.

"I think the "starving" UAW is going to be a grossly-overpaid/overweight slob who will actually own you as a slave."
Good. Instead of fixing weird issues that are generated during vehicle assembly that the dealers can't solve, i can be a good little slave and build the cars right the first time.
Just imagine all the customers that won't be pissed from hearing weird buzzing from their audio system, wet floors, and host of other gremlins that are present AFTER final assembly inspection in Detroit.
I have to account for my level of performance directly, and daily. No contracts or men in suits as a safety net to fall back on. If i become the anchor, i get thrown overboard. It also makes for great incentive to better ones self instead of doing the bare minimum according to a piece of paper.
I don't mean to stereotype (i know not everyone is stupid, lazy, or corrupt), but i don't have individual names to use. If you have the list of offenders by all means let me know and i'll be glad to inject them into my posts. A great way to kill a vampire is by dragging them into the light.
And since i love my FACTS, here's a true bedtime story kids. It's not as good as Slick Rick's bedtime story, but good enough.
A friend of mine joined a union when he took up a trade. He was working at one site, when the call came that evening that they were to be pulled off the job and go to another site to support fellow union members that had called the strike.
Well, several days later they returned to their job site to find they (and whatever equipment/tools they had on site) were now locked out and in the process of being replaced. The company also has a well staffed security force, ensuring nobody without the right face got in.
The company dragged their feet as long as humanly possible, and finally allowed union reps to haul out the storage trailer and equipment after a week or so.
Goodnight, and stay out of the light !
