GM has slowly been releasing more teaser images of one its most highly anticipated new models, the Chevy Volt plug-in hybrid.
All of the photos have been teasers of the exterior of the Volt, but now it looks like a photo of the interior has shown up on the internet. It's not an official photo from GM and its not known if the photo is indeed from the interior of the production Volt. But what we can tell is that the center console looks like something that Apple would have designed, since it is in all white. There are also virtually no buttons on the panel. The controls appear to be touch sensitive.
What do you think? Is this what you were expecting for the interior of the Volt?
UPDATE: An un-named creditable source has confirmed that this is indeed a shot from the production Volt...I just can't say who confirmed it for me. :)

Touch sensitive buttons are great... if you love looking down to make sure you're pushing the right button. Every. Time.
Otherwise... gloss white? seriously?

Wow, I thought GM had learned its lesson with its last touch console (late '80s Buick Riviera). Apparently not. Typical.

a giant i-pod...., you wish. Apple would never design something with so-many undefined curves and shapes, with so much graphics on it.
You really dont know what you're talking about.
Yes, it is white.
This is a made-in-taiwan piece of recycled coffee cups.
Do you really think that for electric cars, chevy all of sudden knows how to make interiors, that they would NOT make everything cheap?

Hey arent you guys being a little harsh? its not so bad i think its a departure from the crap we have seen them use before and why not a touch sensitive button arangement? its proboably not going to break as fast as cheap push buttons, and maby it looks like an Ipod but arent Ipods awesome? why is it looking like an Ipod a bad thing... i now see why some of you feel that most of the folks on here are just a bunch of winers and complainers, if you think you can do a better job then go to school get an education and apply for a job at GM otherwise give suggestions for improvements not just... "This Sucks" statements, those are counter constructive.

Uhh, I'm a CONSUMER. It my JOB to let these COMPANIES know what I want. After all, it's all about the consumer. I can't go be a lawyer, doctor, engineer, and rocket scientist...I'd never get out of school.
Let people do their jobs like you do yours. They are pros at what they do, and I'm sure you're good at what you do.
As for the car, I'm sure it will be nice. I can't stand that console. I'm conservative...I want an easy layout like th older hondas. (Like my '91 CRX) Simple. Reliable. Can feel what I need, and doesn't look like a ton of cheap plastic. (Even though in reality it is)
I can't see myself buying this car. It's going to be too expensive to purchase, and depending on warranty, too expensive to own.

Yeah, those touch sensitive buttons look cool, but they're going to suck. You'll have to be staring at the console to adjust anything.
