It had been rumored that GM was not going to sell its uber fast Cadillac CTS-V in Europe, but according to a senior source at GM, the 556 horsepower CTS-V is in fact headed to Europe.
Those of you in Europe...don't get too excited yet because the car is going to only be offered in left-hand-drive.
The 2009 CTS-V is powered by a 6.2L supercharged V8 engine that puts out 556 horsepower and 551 lb-ft. of torque. The CTS-V reaches 0-60 in 3.9 seconds.

Best Caddy ever...but (lol) while the interior looks good, the gauges look cheap as do the power windows switches.

The window switches should be made out of titanium, with diamond accents, and should gently perfume your fingers when you use them. Other wise they are cheap looking. I know everyone agrees only Toyota has quality window switches.

The Europeans can't handle a sedan this fast. Maybe they should be left to their M5's. (that run the ring 15 seconds slower)

@idiots:
Yes, lets leave them to their M5... and Ferarris' and Lambourghinis', and Aston Martins'. Oh you said "sedans", well never mind their Bentleys' and Rolls Royces'. Yes... the Europeans don't know what a fast car is...
And of course, the 'ring. All cars should be measured in capacity by the number they run at Nürburgring. What was the number the Lotus Exige posted there? Oh my, 8 minutes 25 seconds? Well the Exige mustn't be a sports car then. I guess neither is the NSX, GT3, R8, Viper GTS, 355, and so on.

What does the second half of your post have to do with ... anything? Who was talking about sports cars or what constitues a sports car?
The up and comming CTS-V is the fastest production sedan in the world. The ring is a good measure of performance capabilities at the limit, little else.
Do you like fried chicken?

Europeans have the highways and the knowledge to have fast cars, and indeed most important european car manufacturers have real fast cars , so an american car in here with that power is not a great happening. oh yes we can real speed the car on german autobahn , can't say the same in america

User 'idiots' states: "The up and comming CTS-V is the fastest production sedan in the world." Typical American ego. Audi has a twin-turbo V10 estate (wagon) that would be quite capable of embarrassing anything put out by Cadillac. It is called the RS6.

Actually Todd, the rs6 is slower(at least on the ring). The RS4 is the one that's supposedly faster(by 1 second). But I don't believe it, my HUGE American ego blocks the door to the truth and I can't get around it.

Why not get excited because of the left-hand-drive only? Only country in the Europe with right-hand-drive is UK and that's kinda small part of the Europe.

In a few years, 2nd hand, maybe it will do well with the pimps.

while the interior looks better than the last cts, this car may be the fastest sedan arround the ring for now but honestly this is not going to hold up for more than a few months next M5 or RS6 or AMG E-Class will put this time to shame. how do i know this - its common knoledge that GM is running out of time and money and this might be along with the ZR1 their last big push to be the best at anything but the big 3 germans are making money hand over fist. they will have more money to spend on R/D and materials and they will win the battle for the ring but i guise for the time being we can all hail the caddy the king of the ring but it will not be long before this sedan is slayed by a fire breathing, light weight, technologically advanced, uber sedan from the krauts. its not a question of will they the only question is how long will it take them...

you couldent possibly be more wrong you fool. we made the new CTS-V to beat the germans just like our old folks did in WWII. we gave our designers a limited budget that they spent on a hood and and rummaged arround the parts bins for a motor they could lift straight from another model. lucky for me it was the one from the vette not the volt they could have made a CTS-E and that might have helped us to turn a profit but who needs a messia more than a company on the heels of bancruptcy... i am that messiah my friends and me and my wife John McCain will rule the sky one day how dose that make you feel
