Honda Open Study Model Concept to be Unveiled in London

honda_osm_concept_image.jpg
Honda is going to unveil a new lightweight sports car, dubbed the Open Study Model (OSM) at the London Motor Show this month.

The two-seater concept was designed by Honda's R&D center in Offenbach, Germany. Overall the concept is designed to be fuel-efficient and produce low emissions.

Currently Honda is saying that there are no plans to produce the concept and before any of you assume that this is the next S2000...Honda is saying it's not.

Steve Kirk, a spokesman for Honda said, “At present the OSM is just a design study, a clay model. It is definitely not confirmed for production at the moment.”

JohnBo:

aww, why no s2000?

Saheed:

I'm siding JohnBo. I think it's time for that ancient POS S2000 to be redesigned. Same goes for this fugly POS, the "Honda OSM". It's just a big white blob that Honda seems to think looks futuristic. There is no use in having an open study on something as ugly as this.

RX-7 Guy:

Wow is that what happens when the last camaro and the solstice have baby.

lowest iq:

i dont like the model name. 'open study model'

Looks like a fat lotus elan with one wide fat seat in it.

Waldorf (statler is on holidays):

No, this is what happens if Meat Loaf and Lexus have a baby.

Vtfo0lio:

Hey! I happen to own an S2000 and that "ancient POS" will damn near wipe the floor with almost any car under $35k on a race track. That being said, I hope they put an evolution of the K20 or a 2.4 - 2.2 litre K series in the new S2K. That would be awesome.

Gary:

I would have to agree that the current S2K while dated, is harldy a POS. This concept holds little water with me though since Honda hasn't really released anything like one of it's concepts in a while. We had the HSC which looked awesome but never made it and the Sport4 which was awesome as well but never made it out. The current TSX is a bastardized and uglied up version of the Sport4. It seems Honda/Acura designers are afraid of making a car that looks good for anything but a concept.

When Honda or Acura actually release something exciting, please let me know. I'll be buying a Genesis coupe to replace my aging Integra otherwise...
