2010 Porsche Cayman and Boxster Revealed via Photo Renderings

2010_cayman_rendering.jpg
The photo renderings you see here showed up on Cayman Club earlier today and according to sources they are an authentic representation of the revised 2010 Porsche Cayman and Boxster.

For 2010 the Cayman and Boxster receive new front and rear fascias in addition to more powerful engines thanks to direct injection. The Cayman S gets a boost in power to 320 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. The non-S version of the Cayman now puts out 265 horsepower and 221 lb-ft or torque. The Boxster S now features 310 horsepower and the regular Boxster puts out 255 horsepower.

It looks like the Cayman and Boxster just got even sweeter.

CKV:

All the German companies are going with the "jewelry" lights look. Kind of nasty. This is the least obnoxious variation I've seen (Audi is the worst offender) but still..... a bit unappealing.

I LOVE WHINING !

Cobaltssman:

What CKV said - not too obnoxious but still a bit unappealing - describes it perfectly.

stahlight:

I like the look. Simple, no non-sense sports car with a spartan interior, the way a true sports car should be -- no extra crap to distract you from the road.

And something tells me "CobaltSSman"'s suddenly sycophantic turn with CKV is a product of one CKV. Just sayin' XD

Jake:

Ah, the Cayman. My affordable dream car.

PhilTheThrill:

This is a mock up ... the fog lights are different in some pictures. So let's wait and see before. If the final model looks like this, well this is gonna be a very Porsch-esque re-design i.e. more evolution than revolution. That's OK with me!

Noya:

I'm with you Jake- the Boxster is the purest sports car in the $50-60k range, my favorite.

As for nasty looking headlights, the worst offender is the Jaguar XK...it looks like it has Ford Taurus headlights on it. Not a good trait for an $80k car.

gm0n3y:

I like it, but in the nature of the Torque Report I have to ask:

But what's the tow rating on it?

Todd:

For those of you harping on the front lights...
The lights in the lower front bumper are most likely LED Daytime Running Lights like Audi is using on their vehicles. Although, with LED technology advancing by leaps and bounds, they could serve a dual purpose as both DRL and fog lights.

The lights look fine to me, but then again, I'm not stuck in the 90s for car design. :-)

lotus1:

lets hope i can throw some snow chanis on it and tow my snowmobils into the backcountry with this porsche

gm0n3y:

Does it come with a lift kit option for rock crawling?

dennisil:
