Yes, it's as ugly as the Euro hatches it's trying to imitate...could you imagine driving it on the street? 2000'ish Lbs. and 450+bhp and all the handling gizmos.

Krazeee:

I like the new STi actually. I could do without the massive wing on the back, but I'm sure it works in the rally world. Good luck to 'em.

lowest iq:

i like the car, but i dont want the name on the side, nor a 'number'

Front and mid section looks good. Although I can't find anything I like from the rear wheels back. I suppose thats ok given the rear end is in a cloud of dust for a rally race. It just wont be that attractive in its plain jane clothes.

I have to throw in a vote for positive styling and overall appearance as well. I've always liked hatchbacks and would definitely consider the STi if I was in the market for a new car right now. I also like the treatment on the WRC2008 as compared to other rally cars that are out there. Unfortunately there are only two compact performance cars in it's class. The STi and the Lancer Evo. I liked the Evo VIII, although it was a little obvious that it was built with a Lancer body, which to mee is a lower class than the Impreza. I am not a big fan of the new Evo though...too tall and I definitely don't like the front end. I'm not sure how the quality of the two cars compares.

Wowzers! The thing looks mean. I'm all for hatchbacks, not only for performance functionally, but practicality. Hopefully this will be able to bring serious competition to the hatchback Fords and Citroens that have been completely dominating WRC these past few years. The Fords and Citroens are 2 door hatchbacks, which unfortunately might give an edge over this 4 door. Being lighter and having better weight distribution. But unlike any other currently competitive WRC manufacturer, Subaru provides the best replica of this car to its customers. Go Subaru! I'm definitely gonna consider purchasing the new Impreze WRZ STI.

OK so the rear-end leaves something to be desired.

But honestly, do you really want to run at the head of the pack in the Rally of Greece AND have an attractive rear-end?

I think it depends upon the orientation of your motor....

Ack.....

I'll give the front isn't bad, but why a hatch? Why ONLY a hatch? I know people get tired of me saying it, I want a coupe. Anyone remember the 22B STi? Drool....

Of course I guess it doesn't really matter, it's a rally car. It's 100% function not form. It doesn't matter that much what it looks like, because by the time they get done with it, it'll need a couple body panels replaced anyway.

chris:

i think the car is a good looking car and is one of the best things out keep the good work up boys.
