Lexus has officially registered names for its upcoming IS Coupe, which provides more evidence that the automaker is finally going to release a coupe version of its smallest sedan.
Lexus registered the IS250C, IS300C and IS350C names with the US and Canadian patent and trademark offices. As you can tell from the name the coupe will get a "C" at the end of the existing sedan names. What is also interesting is the IS300C name, since the current IS sedan is only available as an IS250 or IS350. This means that the automaker must be working on a new mid-line model that will could have the same V6 engine as the GS300 that is sold in Japan.

Maybe they're convertibles? I love the IS cars and would love to see a coupe made. Hopefully the pricing isn't to far off of the sedan.

The Lexus IS is easily the best looking sedan in the $30-40k price range...I just hope the coupe can be as captivating.

Hmm maybe killing off the Solara isn't that bad of a thing? Replace the bloated "coupe" with these coupes that actually handle, instead of a shortened family sedan.
The IS line is, IMO, one of the best-looking models on the road, of any type. A coupe with these lines is going to look awesome!!

I can imagine how the coupe will look like for the IS350...It will be a RWD TC since the 350 already looks like a TC but with 4 doors.

Looks like Lexus is twisting the noose on Acura a bit more, deliver products that Acura simply can't right now. Oh how I wish Acura were up to the level of Lexus.
