NBC has made it official that the Knight Rider made for TV movie is going to become a series on NBC.
Early rumors suggested that the show would have a Friday evening slot, but after today's announcement it is officially going to air on Wednesday nights from 8-9pm. If you miss the original airing on Wednesday nights, there will also be an encore showing from 9-10pm on Saturday evenings.
Now the real question is: Who's actually going to watch it? Seems like all the comments in the past posts about this show have all been negative. The clips that I saw from the movie were awful...so let's hope they fix the acting in the series.

How are you comments even relevant, will? They talk about a TV show and you mention "domestic junk." Do you just have to find every possible moment to complain about domestic cars? Have you ever been in or worked on a Mustang? Can you actually speak proper English? These are all questions that ought to be answered before you go on speaking.

It is about darn time someone brought back 80s cheese TV. I miss it so much. I will watch this one for sure. You can all watch your fake TV while I enjoy a show that is actually FUN to watch. So there.

Actually I drove a mustang convertible once from enterprise(they got this car left in stock) and both interior and exterior sucks bad like the cars in the early 90's. Its only fast on straight and feels like a musle man without a "brain". Ford only make $ in China and some countries in so. america, but loss $ everywhere else...
TIME WILL TELL #2, LOOK AT THEIR STOCK, from 40 in the early 2000 and only 6 now days??

I don't know how I like the retro mustang as KITT. I still think of KITT as a futuristic car. Maybe it will work though. It is a really nice looking car.

KITT needs to be a Pontiac based car. With that in mind, the first show should show KITT getting completely totaled and put back together using a GM product like Solstice or a G8 (Four Door KITT).
I did not like the movie, it was a 2 hour Ford commercial with additional Ford commercials for the commercials...

The movie was great, IF you look at it for what it is. A MADE FOR TV MOVIE! Past that, of course it's nothing special, and it didn't need to be. Hell we are talking about Knight Rider, a show that was sub-par to begin with, so why do you all expect so much from a made for TV movie current version?
Personally I think they did a good job. Would I pay to see it in the theaters or rent it, of course not, but that wasn't the intended purpose now was it?
As far as all this Ford bashing goes, give it a rest. It's a Ford, not a Ferrari. For a 25-30k muscle car it has more than enough. It's fast (yes in a straight line, for those who missed it, THIS IS A MUSCLE CAR, it's not a tuner) and the interior is on par with that of most modern day muscle car clones or even the average American vehicle for that matter. Stop trying to ask for a luxury sedan in a mustang, if you want a luxury sedan with 300+ hp get a BMW for 3x(+) the cost, otherwise please stfu, ty.

how about a portable version of kit that could plug into any car like a tom tom??? that would solve the problem of us all thinking the mustang was chosen by way of who cut the producer a large enough check.

We talk about sh!t on Ford so they can make improvements in order to compete with the superior imports dumb@ss!
Why some ford fanboys could get easily satisfied by this junk?

Awful is a word not strong enough to describe not only acting but the whole movie. I mean how can a Ford Edge keep up with a freaking KR500 on mountain twisties? seems like K.I.T.T.'s AI is not quite done, and neither was the movie nor will the series be.
I'm boycotting (read: I have better things to do)
I personally like Ford but it is about time they got the euro-spec Focus here (especially the ST).
will: learn English first and than try to construct valid criticism that makes sense. (Would anyone bother to translate to me what he was talking about in his second post?)
joe: I know you're bitter because your wife made buy u a Toyota that is as much fun tr drive as an adult on a child's tricycle but go vent your frustrations elsewhere.

@ Will -
I'm not even a fan of ford, in fact I am more into Tuners. I run a 99 GSX with a 6 bolt swap, DSMLink, etc.. pushing about 320 to the wheels (Awd).
However, unlike some people, I have a brain. That is, I understand what people like about the mustang, and what you are asking for is like turning a mustang into a C-Class mercedes or the new Accord. If that's what you like, that's fine, but don't try to change what the Mustang is.
@ Joe
If your going to respond at LEAST have something intelligent to say.

I think talking cars are so cool! Sometimes at night I'll drive through McDonald's for a value meal and sit alone in my car. I close my eyes and just imagine my car saying all sorts of secret stuff to me. Oh gosh, if only!!!

I know this thread is a bit old, but I couldn't help but LMAO when I read Will comparing a Civic to a Mustang.
Sorry dude, chicks drool all over my 08 Mustang every day! Including Civic owners lol. Civics are ONLY cool for a 16 year old high school kid. THATS IT.
I've lost count of all the girls I've had in my car and its only a month old ROFL.
Don't believe me? Rent both and head to the bar and see what happens :P
