Mael Oberkamph a photographer and photo rendering artist has created what he calls the BMW M-Zero Concept (not officially created by BMW).
According to Oberkamph the concept draws its inspiration from the BMW M6 and Aston Martin DB9. He feels that if the car were an actual production car it would be an Audi R8 competitor.
What do you think? Does this design work or is the combination of Aston Martin and BMW design cues too much?

Ugly. It's a disgrace to the roundels he put on it.
It's way to disproportionate to ever be a production car. Bmw would never have such a huge front overhang and the DUB wheels are horrible.
I give it a D-
He does a darn good job with fake photos though, quite an artist.

Quite an acheivement for a single artist, but... NO.

The wheels are not DUB at all, no chrome on em.
But still, given BMW's recent shenanigans with the X6, somehow I think they would actually produce something this ugly.

Looks like a cross between the new Camaro and a wanna be Audi R8. What's up with the mid 80's era "louvered" taillights? This is the Trans Am of this decade. Frickin hairy chested, gold necklace wearing greaseballs.
Sig heil!

Personally I think it looks great, and the fact that one artist made those... Incredible!
Yall all must hate the DB9 or something cause this car looks very similar to it.
Just my 2 cents!

it looks great...
but i'm sure it'll be on the heavy side, and completely unattainable for the average salary man.

Nice photoshopping (or is that foto-shopping?), but....
Since this concept is from an artist completely unconnected with the manufacturer, does it really belong on this page?
(If yes then I can provide plenty of concept drawings produced by my nine year old.)

That's the first decent looking BMW I've seen in over a decade. Too bad it's not a BMW. I still say Bangle should be lynched for what he did to the brand........

I'm not opposed to the idea, but the front and rear views just don't scream BMW- too girly. I look at them and think "frills".
Needs to be tougher looking to compete with the industrial-looking R8.
The artist should have done to the tail lights what BMW did with the 5 series- you can't tell when the brake lights aren't on but the pattern of the LEDs look like wings when they come on. Very nice looking to me.
Also, I think the front should borrow more from the 5 series than the Z4.

You don't need chrome to be dubs. Dubs = 20".

Hey everybody. Remember in James Bond Brosnan era. He drove 3 BMWs from Goldeneye to the World is not Enought. Only he ditch BMW back to the Aston Martin. Could BMW try reach back on the hands of James Bond? In my option I speak for my fellow Bond fans that 007 is want always behind the wheel of an Aston Martin in each Bond movie.

Anyone remember the 8 series? People who buy BMW's wouldn't buy it and the people who would buy it, wouldn't because it is a BMW. I just wonder why the artist decided to make it a "BMW".

I dont get it, everytime I get on this site, and read the boards; 95% of the comments are "boo its ugly" "screw that, looks retarded" "wow i don't think they would produce something that ugly." In my opinion I think this is a good looking car in most ways. I feel BMW needs something like this. Give the artist some credit. I grade it at a B-

The car looks O.k. But take in mind that its just a concept and that it may change depending on the opinion of the people at the auto shows who either give good or bad comments about the concept. Personally I think the car is kinda cool but the rear and tailights might need improvment.
I give it a C+

I agree this is not news but a neat addition to this page no less shouldn't be here how ever the cars name speaks for itself M=much and ZERO=0
Then M-Zero must mean "nothing much" in German ....if I drove that car down the streets of Barvaria I would get shot and the car would get recycled cua Germans are smart like that.
Note for the artist : if you want to make money with your time instead of wasting it just create a site in which you post your concept cars for a prize and all the guests of the site vote on it. And make a member area to submit cars for $20 /year and provide them with steps and knowledge on the site for creating such art. so there you go making profit for your hobbies and providing a service for a small fee sounds good to me
