Chrysler officially unveiled the all-new 2009 Dodge Ram at the Detroit Auto Show in January, but failed to unveil the regular cab model alongside the crew cab.
Here is the one of the first images of the Regular Cab TRX-4 model thanks to PickupTruck.com. The 2009 Dodge Ram regular cab pickup can come with either a 6-foot 4-inch, or 8 foot bed. It looks like the RamBox storage system that is located on the outside of the bed on the crew cab will not be offered on the regular cab model.
There will be four versions of the Ram regular cab the ST, high-performance Sport and R/T models and an off-road ready TRX-4 model.

Still looks like a ford or older chevy. If it weren't for the grill, nobody would know you had a dodge! And what's with all that plastic trim?!?!? Tacky AND ugly!
At least they realized the '07-'08 tail lights were horrible and changed them back to nice smooth ones.
I'm glad I've got my '06, everyday I see it next to my '96 I appreciate it's modern, and still "big rig" look.
This new one has completely lost the look.

Aren't those interior shots of a 6 year old F-150? Oh, wait, I forgot, Dodge/Chrysler is just that far behind real automakers.

Meh. Double meh for the short bed. Triple meh for the attempted "design" of the front end. The inverted nose angle is well...different. But like I said, it's all very meh.

"It's a Ford F-150 Lariet. Wait, that's a Dodge Ram??????"
That's what the reaction is going to be like by a lot of people at first glance with the new Dodge Ram SLT versions.

Only american rednecks buy pickemup trucks... blah blah blah... stupid americans wasting gas blah blah... no one needs a pickup truck blah blah blah...
Personally I think the new Dodge looks good. I'd drive one if I didn't live in the city.

The amazing thing is that the exact same people admonish trucks for becoming just "big luxury cars" but at the same time bash them for their "inferior interior." Make up yours minds. This interior is simple and practical. What else, might I ask, does it need? And I honestly don't see what you are looking for in a truck that is different from previous model years. There is only so much one can do with a cab and a bed. And to finish it off, I agree with cheap car buyer - if you have a reason to get a truck, why not? I haul lumber, concrete, old furniture, tractor parts, roofing, etc to and from my ranch house at least twice a month. I need a truck for that and I use it accordingly. But I use a sedan in the city to conserve. I get tired of the bashing of trucks because they are American. The Tundra looks just like Chevy and Ford trucks, and gets similar mileage. But it's Japanese, so they don't bash it. Get your stories straight.

I find it extremely hypocritical that Europeans bash our utility vehicles but yet, the majority of European countries buy our Hummers for their militaries.

Looks like another big, ugly, gas guzzler from Dodge. Too bad American automakers are going in the wrong direction and it will eventually put them out of business.

To SteelCity, I dont think mainstream vehicle choices have anything to do with military vehicle choices, get real moron.

Joe, thinking is your problem. You should cut back on that. You're contradictable statements shows your ignorance fully. I was referring to Europe’s choice to choose our utility vehicles, for their militaries and the hypocrisy of people in Europe saying how bad our utility vehicles are but yet, their own countries choose to use our so called bad utility vehicles for their military over anything Europe has to offer.

last time i checked with the army was that they didnt want hummers because the bad guys would think they were americans and hence, would receive extra 'attention'.
Thats why most armies now have Iveco, Mercedes, Unimogs, Daf, Steyr and landrover.

Actually, driving a Hummer is the safest thing to do in a war with the Americans, they shoot at everything else they don't recognise ...

Big ugly gas guzzler? It makes more power, and burns less gas. That's always a step in the right direction. I think it looks good, worlds better looking then those fugly F-series that have all the visual appeal of your average filing cabinet. BTW I love how people bash others because they choose/need to drive different vehicles then they do. "You drive a pickup truck, so you must be stupid!"

I had a 96 and lamented when they changed up the style in 02. What a dumb move. I have (settled for) an 03. My Cummins diesel is one of the best engines I've ever owned. Shame they built a Dodge around it. Wonder if this new one will be the same engineering nightmare?

Really disappointed that the editors chose the crappiest photo as the main header. bias much?
I like the storage compartment idea. Much better than the ridgeline where its under the bed which becomes completely useless if you are carrying any other load in the back.
Styling is much better than the new F-150. They really screwed up the front grille on the F-150 for this year. The Ram looks clean and aggressive.
Who cares about interior, its a truck. All it needs to do is stand up to the abuse of its owner jumping in with a full belt of tools for 10 years and still remain in decent shape.
Imports were great for a while but they all look alike now. They are stealing designs from one another and everything looks like a friggin egg. Styling in the US cars are definitely surpassing imports these days.

I hate the interior.
If I can't open both doors and hose it out, what is the point of having a truck?

Nice truck, but I have a soft spot for Chevy Silverados. Would I buy a truck today? Well, a couple times a year I'll go to Home Depot and rent one for an hour or two, but that's it. I just don't need one, considering the expenses.

Someone needs to buy Dodge a calendar and a newspaper! "Fresh" design that is already 10 years old. The shark nose grill is fugly, and by the way Dodge, have you seen the price of gas, lately? If this were 1999, and gas was $1.19/gal, you would have a winner!
