By now I'm sure most of us are tired of seeing the countless spy photos of the 2010 Chevy Camaro, but anyways here are some more.
Three Camaros were spotted driving around in Tampa, Florida and thanks to a forum member over at Camaro5 we have even more "spy" photos of the new car. Too bad GM engineers are still keeping the interior under wraps.

yeah the interior might be crap, but I hope it will follow GM's latest quality efforts....

I agree, looks cheap. I hate the design where the front of the car looks like its hanging on the body of the car. The vertical line that is in front of the turn signal makes the car look like the front has been chopped off and had a different "face" attached. It would also make repair very expensive in a fender bender, the whole front of the car would have to be replaced, not just the bumper. The 2008 Mercedes C class has this same look. The bumper should be attached below the headlights to get rid of that chopped up look.

Something about it reminds me of an 80's Monte Carlo.
Anyways... I really am tired of seeing pictures of the new Camaro, stop posting them TR.

"Looks cheap" is an understatement, both the front and back looks unfinished, like a bad concept. And that hood scoop looks just as unplanned. I just hope that the car itself isn't as much of a dissapointment.

This is going to be one bad ass looking car when it hits the market. I will be the first person in line for one. There is nothing cheap about this thing. Damn I wish they would hurry up and get this car in to production so I can get one.

I am not a big pony car fan... so my opinion of this car is biased, but i will tell you one thing - look at the guys in these pics there all far from hip or cool or anything near hot... there rednecks and beer drinkers

Meh. I was drooling over the concept, but this just ain't doing it for me.
The lines just don't look as muscular and defined as the concept did, the louvers are no longer functional, and the headlight and grill change sucks. I'm getting more of a Trans AM rental car feel from it now. Where's Hasselhoff?
Oh well. At least the new Mustang and Challenger look and feel right.

@Dennisil:
The redneck and beer demographic encompasses almost the entire southern half of the country, so this car should do pretty well.
I think the black one looks pretty bad but like the looks of it in they white ones. I won't be buying one either way, but i'm pretty sure with the following the Camaro had before this car will do well for GM.

looks like a charger from the profile (the rear, anyways). but its still a concept, hopefully the fit and finish will be a hell of a lot better than it is now. this shoulda been the new KITT, not that damn mustang.
and wtf is that supposed to mean, Sid?

Instead of making slight changes to every photo shoot, just release the car and make the changes with normal model year updates.
I swear they are wasting sooo much money with these "teaser" shoots.
People really wanted this car when Transformers came out. By time they "really" release this car, Bumblebee will just be another faded memory....
Just release the car...

As far as the retro muscle cars go, this one is the least attractive. Both Mustang and Charger in all their variations are better looking than this, and soon the Challenger will come out which also looks a heck of a lot better.

The front is too short and looks chopped off. The rest of the car looks cheap and poorly built just like the old camaro's. Well at least they are keeping it the same and going backwards in looks and quality but what is the point of this? I guess they are trying to re-connect or they just can't come up with any new ideas for this car just like they can't for the Vette.
The way I see it, if you want a cheap fast car buy a GM, but buyers are too wise these days and understand you get what you pay for so these cars are driven by people who can't afford, or don't want to afford anything else.
Another thing, why are they showing this car now when it will not be available until 2010? Seems they have no confidence in their design and want to see what public reaction is first.

Wow, can't believe all the negativity here about this. The "I hate everything GM" crowd really showed up for this one.
I like this car, can't wait to see the interior. If they are smart they will go with a similar one to the '04 GTO, I saw one at the dealer and was really impressed, especially since the GTO's exterior wasn't impressive at all.
I do have one issue I hope GM comes around and corrects. The hood scoop is blocked off on all 3 of the cars pictured. Whats the point of having the scoop if it not functional. In the 90's only the SS Camaro's had scoops and they were functional and so it should be with this one. Why do they insist on blurring the option packages. There should be visible differences between the Camaro, RS, Z28 and SS other than name badges. Anyone remember how easy it was to tell the difference between the version's of Camaro in the 90's?
Camaro = Base V6 model, no scoop or badges
Camaro RS = Base Camaro with ground effects and upgraded exhaust pipes
Camaro Z28 = V8 (standard 350 or 345) with Z28 badge on back (some years had them on the side as well, but not all)
Camaro SS = Z28 package with functional scoop, upgraded V8 (LT1 or later LS1), upgraded spoiler, SS badges and multiple other options.
Other than that, this is a really cool looking car and hope it comes out shortly after the next Transformers movie as to get the sales bounce from it.
As to the front being one solid piece, its probably for aero that they do that. Having a body line on the front like that changes the drag on the front end. This car is designed for high speed and I'm sure there is a reason for everything. LOL at people talking about the mustang and charger. The charger is a joke and the mustang is just following its history of trying to copy the camaro, but poorly executed (i.e GM announces the new Camaro will be retro to '69, then all the sudden Ford has a retro '67 Mustang).
People are right, 2010 is too long to wait for this, but hopefully the economy will be better by then and the gas prices will get back to a sane range.
Looking forward to at least test driving one of these.

Besides, how does paint and steel look cheap? Im baffled by the cheap comments. Half the cars made today have plastic body panels, dont those look cheap with paint on them too?

Because it goes on sale in Q2 or 09. Also I can't wait until it's released and see one blow the doors off some 350z or G37, preferable a modded one.
For around $30-35k buyers will get a possible 12 second car that should be pretty good in the twisties. This is a bad deal how?

Enough of the "spy" shots. We have all seen the cmaro since Transformers the movie now GM get off your a$$ and start selling it before we are all sick of seeing it. Being almost a year since initially seeing it kind of takes away that OMG factor and the gotta have it now factor. Reguardless of price and that, its taking an insane amount of time to release this car. If it wasn't going for full 2008 production they should never have been showing up previews of it that long ago.

These are mules. These aren't a finished product. These are mile guzzlers in order to test the vehicles, parts, ideas, improvements etc..
But even these look good if you don't get too close to see plastic and stuff thats not made to impress but only to make it street legal so they can drive on open roads..

Are you kidding me? The Charger is an ugly piece of shit, a sedan, and a joke of a muscle car. I don't care how much horsepower it has.

I like what james said. if the interior is similar to the GTO's, it will be a perfect car in my book. the GTO is freakin amazing, w/o the cavalier exterior. riding in that car is freaking awesome, the sound, the feel, and the power.
Hopefully, this car will be comparable. the exterior is gorgeous. i love this car. the few people (5-10) that i have talked to and showed this car to, have all said they wanted one. its simple, sexy, and hopefully will either be powerful with a V8 or efficient and quick with a TURB DI I4

As a sports car owner of many years I have say love the extension for our manhood remarks. Do you guys make these remarks because you are jealous of our women or because you have a wee one yourselves?
We buy these cars because they are damn fun to drive and love the exhilaration that a powerful car gives us. I personally hate the attention that my car draws to this day. What I do love is hitting the gas and hanging on for dear life. Try it you'll like it.

James:
The front being a solid peice is not for aero dynamics because its supposed to be a fast car. Its for cheap plastic molding process and not having to assemble the front. I have 3 cars, all Mercedes Benz that are capable of cruzing at 130MPH all day without a single peice front end. The single peice front is so when its at that stage in the production line the front gets smacked on the car as a single peice. Lowers cost of production and assembly...and lowers the quality, design and look of the build. Its like the Jeeps with plastic fenders... geeze at least they could paint the plastic! Or the ugly boxy car I think is a Toyota with plastic body panels not even painted...who would buy that?

Just something I thought I would point out since there is all this one piece two piece front end nonsense. Did they do it to save money, most likely. Is it more aerodynamic then two pieces, yes it is. Lines equal drag. Lastly, the car nose sits so low that if something were to hit the front of it, you would have to replace the whole front bumper regardless of it be two pieces or one, so that argument is a moot point.

Let all keep it realize I 1st saw the camaro as a concept I thought it was hot as hell came the preproduction model. cheap! Yes paint can be cheap. sad 2c so much false American pride.what makes a country great is when u can C ur mistakes and change them. sad to c the corporations buttfuk u n u enjoy it. Chevrolet put out this great concept said it would start at 22k n a v8 at 27k.then they began stripping the car of its looks in preproduction and the cost has went up.your friend Lutz now believes his car is worth 27k starting cuz his car is nicer inside than mustang.so in reality the v8 will start round 35k.then the redesigned interior is terrible. People please start demanding more 4 ur$ $.BMW can give u state of the art performance n technology for 35k.Nissan can do the same for 30k. Honda & Toyota give u the grand combo of performance safety reliability n economy.GM ford etc.always make u give something n charge more than foreign comp that seems to alw benchmark with there products.I just traded my 07 Monte Carlo for an 08 altima.both cost 24K the altima has 60 more hp much more torque 4x the safety features let's not even compare standard equipment my Nissan puts my former Chevy to shame, maintenance is also covered by nissan for 5 years for a small fee.my altima out performs the former heritage car in every way. The only tru plus on the Monte was the huge trunk.so my point is.the camaro will be the usual American piece of shit that we been getting the last 2 decades.lastly American cars stock have the strong 0-60 n other launch power but fail in the lateral and are low in mid and high range passing power. Foreign gives u all of the above stock.
