According to the person that posted these photos on the Camaro5 forums, these two photos are of the production base Chevy Camaro.
If you look closely you will notice that this prototype does not have the placeholder headlights that the rest of the Camaros that have been spotted all over the country. The wheels on each side of the convertible are different as well. This probably represents the base wheels and an upgraded set. The faux hood scoop is also missing from the front of the car.
Let's hope these photos are real.
Thanks for the tip Rod!

This looks much better than the coupe. It's got real headlights instead of those ugly projectors. The hood scoop is probably non-functional ugly garbage anyways, so it's better without it.

It is rather beautiful as car, it is as much beautiful as the coupé.

OK, I get it, there are "leaked" photos of the upcoming Cameros. Is it a slow news day or something?

Make it a flex-fuel system and it will not only macho and cool but also green. What we really don't need is another 'global-warming' gas guzzling vehicle.

this dumb car gets more press coverage from the TR than teen beat magazine hunting paris hilton or lindsey lohan... hey TR we get it you like the camaro we appreciate your concern but there might be more news on actually cool cars like the GTR? or i dont know somthing that could be classified as a good car for starters... i cant wai tto see a 205hp v6 version of this hoopty clunking down my local blvd the driver wearing Oaklys with a mullet and a no fear sticker on the bumper to match the tatoo on his shoulder of the tazmanian devil, all joe dirt like.

I agree. This car is now old news. It's taken so long to come to market...and I really don't see anything special about it. Yes, I liked it in "Bumblebee" form, but by the time I see one on the street it will feel like an old model that has been out for years already.

The new Camaro look nice. I get it. I am officially bored of any new Camaro news, by the looks of the other posts, so is everyone else. The fact that Bob Lutz has taken the wraps off of all the testing mules indicates that he (re: GM) wants as much press coverage as possible. There is a point of oversatuaration though and I fear we are at that point.

So sick of all the press the Camaro is getting. Just release the damn car already. And until then, shut up. Wasn't this car supposed to be released like 10 years ago? GM's doing a piss-poor job managing expectations. Whetting people's appetites works for a certain length of time. Then they just get pissed and go buy a Mustang.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!
Is the coverage on Torque Report for the Camaro indicative of public demand for this vehicle? This vehicle is the same tired mentality US auto manufacturers have been losing market share with for the last 30 years.

True, there is an insane amount of "news" about the Camaro. Why not just edit the other post? Just for 2 pics *shrug* I must admit I didn't expect to find more interesting car info on a Dutch website anyway...

@Tommy Boy:
I Agree 100%. Much better than the two little bug eyes the others have.
On another note, any thoughts on a petition to change "The Torque Report" to "The Camaro and Geneis Report"?

Please stop posting any Camaro news. Every day there is a new posting. We don't care about the Camaro. By the time it's gonna be out every other car will be more advanced. How about making a car light, so it'll go around a corner?
kthxbye.

"i cant wai tto see a 205hp v6 version of this hoopty clunking down my local blvd"
Your ignorance is amazing.
There is no 205HP version. The roughly 260HP V6 model will be fairly quick if geared correctly. It will certainly be faster and better handling than a V6 Challenger, and probably faster than the V6 Mustang as well. Both of those cars will be its direct competition.

When the Camaro concept was unveiled (oh so many years ago) I expected it to be available reasonably soon. I had the money and was an eager and willing buyer.
Sometime early last year, however, I gave up waiting and just rebuilt my '95 Z28 Camaro. I dropped in a custom built, balanced and blueprinted LT-1 racing engine with new intake and exhaust. Now I have a 420 BHP rocket sled with all new mechanicals and new suspension for less than one third the cost of a new Z28. It's completely paid for, costs very little to insure and register, meets California smog regulations and, with the six-speed manual tranny, gets decent gas mileage (for a muscle car). I'm not the only one to have done this. Many more fourth generation F-bodies are getting similar make-overs. Can't beat it in terms of bang for the buck.
GM, you'd better step it up. Your market is dwindling.
