Yuck! What in the world did they do to the front grill?
The green concept car was WAY nicer looking.
Good riddance, no reason to sell this thing in the USA.

Is that a giant sunroof? It looks like the first half of the roof is deep tinted glass.
Sweet.

Isn't VW known for having lots of problems in the U.S., I think I have read about it having little problems often.

lol have you ever owned a GM product ?

What does GM have to do with it? VW is 4th from last in long term reliability. GM is much higher on the list.

actually i like this design more than the prototype.
the prototype big grille is too reminiscent of the Audi grille and all other look alike big-grilles.
so this new front end actually gives it its own character rather than a copied character

I also like the production model better than the concept...which is rare. That big gaping hole on the concept didn't look right to me. Same problem I have with the Mitsubishi Lancer/Evo. Just looks unfinished. I'd take this production model though, if they put in the right engine.

new grill or old. I want this car to come to the USA. If VW is worried about canibalizing GTI sales, don't. the GTI probably has more interior room and a 4 door option. How much does a 4 door option on the GTI eat into Jetta GLI sales? Give people choices! Bring the Scirocco to the US so I can park one in my garage!
cheers,
Bob

That Interior is top notch, I could drive this if it came to the US, though I would likely scour aftermarket companys to find a way to put the proper looking big grille back into place. Actually if you really look you can see that it's still there, they just put the body colored strip right though/over the middle of it.

@travis
"if you really look you can see that it's still there"
That what the Scirocco S or GT will look like . . .
like the difference between a Rabbit and a GTI.

VW won't sell the Scirocco in the West because their afraid it will compete heavily with the Golf. That's a real shame because I like what I see in the Scirocco but don't really care for the rest of their product lineup--which, to spell it out for VW's bean-counters translates to NO sale at all on this end. I'd rather buy a Mazda.

While I wouldn't own a POS VW, and the front end is much worse than the concept, I do like the interior, its very nice.
