Who knew that they were actually working on a fourth version of the Fast and Furious movie series, but it looks like they are and the all-new 2009 Hyundai Genesis Coupe will have a starring role.

When Fast and Furious 4 is released sometime in 2009 it will star alongside the Nissan GT-R. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are also reportedly on board for the new movie. It is being reported that Hyundai has already supplied Universal with a red turbocharged Genesis Coupe SE for the movie.

Skyline GT-R R-32:

Interesting

SEALBoy:

Alongside a GT-R? Not bad.

zippy:

those movies are way tilting

Gary:

I almost wish it wasn't going to be featured in the movie if the next one is anything like the last 2. It'll give it some good face time with the market they're after but then you'll also see Genesis Coupe's with wing spoilers and LED's on the wheels. The first F&F was the only one worth a damn.

The Dude:

I was shocked and appalled when I heard the news of FF4 being made from my auto instructor. The last 3 is all about ricers more than racing. I heard the news from him about a year ago because his brother is the one that is fabricating all the exhaust systems for their 80+ cars they have on the set. More muscle cars are going to be featured on the film.

FF4?:

Oh god I hope they don't rice another classic car in FF4, I saw number 3 and it made me want to cry.

low iq:

yep, the Hyundai will be up agianst the Pinto, Vega and Pacer.

The 4th installment is called 'Detroit thrift'

torar:

hummm sure looks like the new nissan altima coupe to me
oh its just hyundai copying another design :p

Chucklehead:

It looks like a Nissan Altima Coupe, Acura RSX, and Lexus GS series had ménage à trois.

Hopefully it isn't quite as heavy as the Altima, or Lexus though.

But looks decent none the less.

Nice work Hyundai.

CarLuver57:

I think it is a nice inital attempt at a serious sport coupe by Hyundai. I'm sure the V8 option was just talk as they know the emissions hell for the car mfg's is set to begin again in 3-4 years like back when they forced all the auto companies to switch to unleaded fuel. But I love the car and I think they did good by goign rwd as any serious performance vehicle for track needs to be (or awd.)

@cucklehead:

Haha it does look like an Altima/RSX/Lexus all rolled into one - I was thinking the exact same thing!

Crash:

I can just see the title now:

"The Fast and Furious: Pusan Pattycake"

As for Paul Walker and Vin Diesel, I guess you really do pass the same folks on the way down.

Kell:

I sound like a broken record, but the more I see it the more I like it. The fact that everyone compares this car to others that cost $5,000-$15,000 more is a compliment in disguise. The high bang-for-the-buck is undeniable.

In the past I have modded three V8 coupes (two GM and one Ford), and they were great fun. Modding a car like this would be something new and different.

As a modder, it would have to be built like absolute crap (unlikely) for me to disregard it as a candidate. After all, suspension kits, turbo kits, etc. will be plentiful. The tuner crowd is already ramping up.

It will be interesting to see how it unfolds. Worthy of a test drive IMO.

Vince:

Quote from Tokyo Drift movie from the character Han, "You're representing me now. What you think, I'm gonna let you roll in a Hyundai?"

HW:

this car looks ugly to me.

hyundai, work on your fugly logo first.

don't care how good the car performs, if it's fugly, i ain't buying.

HW:

oh, by the way, the altima/nissan/infiniti crap. they all are fugly. god i hate those f**ing cars.

Alex:

I like the car, too bad it has to be in such a crappy movie...

Bill:

Chevy should copy this design for the Cobalt.

GT-R32 RB26DETT:

remember wat Han said " i'm not gonna let u roll around in a Hyundai" this car isn't bad on da eyez they think that can change da body slap a turbo charger in it and its street worthy? let alone fast and the furious worthy? i'll admit the 1st F&F was a huge let down and the 2nd one wasn't any help to F&F franchise the third was more about drifting and in my opinion was very well put together it's because of cars like this whose bark is worst than its bite

seth:

yea but u seem to have a r32 with a rb26dett, to u, most cars bark would be worse than their bite..... right...

i think its..popular to hate on the f and f movies, but then i guess most car guys would rather be watching some romance comedy?? how much bloody realism do u guys want from a movie about cars? and everyone loves the first most.. maybe its the 10spd gearbox in the eclipse, or the oil line that blows and causes the floor to drop off.. right..

but onto the hyundai !! first of, it was very surprising to see something like this from hyundai, i think its a step in the right direction, and it may end up stepping on a lot of cars toes if it does come out with the hinted at specs, looks like it would be a fun car to play around with

UMM no!:

Okay first off this car looks nothing like the Altima.. The front end looks like someone squished it.. The interior is unoriginial, and offers nothing that isnt already out. Personally, being a car lover, the best I'd say about this car is, they are lucky to get any screen time, that could patently give them some sales.

Now onto F&F movies.. let me tell you something.. if you wanna get the effects of racing and driving.. watch the speed channel, otherwise shut up.. Real doesn't sell, thats the truth get over it. Its more appealing and intense for them to shift and clutch every few seconds because it gives the viewers the feel of speed... everytime they shift you know he's gaining speed, now would you rather watch that or a realistic shift sequence?

Yes they have been known to go way past what we know as being realistic, but whats more appealing to the eye? Your car going up in flames while you desperately and continuously make every attempt to keep it running to win the race.. or your car simply over heating and stalls out? Wow I can see your point.. that is way more appealing on the big screen..

Disagree if you will, but personally I think that Tokyo Drift was the better of the three. It had a story line that was easy to following and actually entertaining; had everything you'd expect as far as language barrier, ricer vs muscle, muscle turned ricer, cameo's, entense race's, rivalries, with nice cars. Face it, it's the car scene most of us would like to be at, with tons of hot women, and slick completely modified cars, with for the most part realistic drifting. Though most of the drift scene's in the movie weren't actually shot in Japan, but in the states.

And in this movie they taught the stars of the movie to actually drift, so that they would atleast know how react on camera.. The first movie was nice to get the series started, but didnt live up to the expectations. The second movie was a complete and utter disappointment. In the 4th installment I'd like to see the race at the end of the 3rd movie that left us hanging, then show what relation Hann was with Vin's character.
