Acura is Recalling 273,000 Acura TL's Because of Potential Fire Issues

acura_tl
Acura (Honda) has announced two separate recalls for its midsize TL sedan (2004-2008).

The first issue has to do with a windshield wiper issue. A potentially faulty circuit breaker on 129,600 2004 and 2005 TLs could fail thereby making the wipers inoperable.

The second issue involves a power steering hose that could break during high temperatures under the hood, which would then leak fluid onto the catalytic converter. This could lead to smoke or even a fire under the hood.

Luckily no injuries have been reported and Acura dealers are going to address both issues free of charge.

Hmmm.

No posting of Ford's recall of 4.5 million vehicles due to faulty cruise control wiring that has caused fires and linked to 3 deaths...........................?

Patrick:

Acura recalls because they want to fix a rare problem,Ford covers up the issue until the courts make them do a recall.

When I was a kid I had a 2 door AMC Hornet (yeah, baby) that would spray power steering fluid on the exhaust manifold when you put the steering wheel all the way to its limit. Was a great trick in the high school parking lot. Lots of smoke. Teh chicks dug me.

HW:

doesn't matter to me. cuz i have never owned an acura, and i never will. the TL is one of the most over-rated cars from the east.

jettto:
