Aston Martin unveiled the Vantage RS Concept at the end of last year. At the time the automaker said the car was only a concept, but we know how that goes.
According to a recent interiew with Aston Martin CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez, the car is going to enter production sometime next year after a convertible version of the DBS. The Vantage RS Concept is powered by the same 6.0L V12 engine as the DBS, but with some enhancements to squeeze out a bit more power. According to Aston martin the car reaches 0-62mph in 4.0 seconds and 100mph in 8.5 seconds.
The DBS is going to start at $265,000 in the US and the Vantage RS will start even higher when it is released.

Is that interior suede?

Such a wonderful car. I love Aston Martin. Nearly every aspect of this car is beautiful.
Alcantra should be used sparingly on the interior though. It's good for seats, but looks silly when it's used everywhere. I'd rather see 'the other side of the hide' if you know what I mean.
The wheels are not too hot either, but not bad.

RS stands for Really Sexy. The color choice, however, is not.

Mmmm I could drive this if I had the money, I sort of like the color, would rather have it in black mind you, but the subtle part silver slightly blue color is not bad.
600 hp, is it just me or is everything out there now coming with 400, or 500 or 600 hp? seems kind of strange when we are in the middle of an oil shortage with record high prices. But whatever nothing good with a little horsepower war now and then.

Beautiful car, inside and out. A 6.0L V12 600hp, what is not to like?
Probably a waiting list.

I also love Aston Martin. In Casino Royale I think the DBS was the Bond Girl. Sex on Wheels!

Finally, an Aston that may be as fast as other exotics. I know Astons are GT's, but when AMG Mercs blow them out of the water that's kind of lame.

Why does someone always have to make a "green" remark about SUPERCARS? The people that buy these would have no problem paying $50/gallon, no less the $3.50 that it's at right now. And they use these as weekend cars, not daily drivers.

I hope this car comes with optional SUPERdark window tint because in the interior that sexy I would probably end up driving naked :D.
Hey GM, You got the chassis tuning down recently, take some notes on interiors now.

Ready to retire in style? This might be your car.
Are you a practical person with a love for vehicles?
Build your own, save money, have much better stats, more fun, and be an individual.
This car is disgusting.
600 HP is weak sauce for a car that weighs so much.
I suppose it's good in a crash. I'll give it that.

Now if only they would make one with a diesel engine in it.... and I had a couple hundred thousand dollars to afford one. The only thing with getting a car like that is you know the first time you take it out for a drive a pebble is going to bounce of the road and chip the paint.

Aston Martin brand is about the only car I think that I could walk around, sit inside of and not find anything that I would want changed. The only problem now, is that the Jaguar looks to much like it.
SL65 might also not require any changes.

I can bet you the sole total of the miles of this car driving probably wont hit 1million. thats for every one sold together. This car is as sexy as all belief but astons always are I dont know what it is about them but it seems to much they just are nicer then what they are competing against.

Yes it is a fast and sexy ride, but a $265,000 price tag, I don't think anyone is really willing to use it in any race event.

** Joking statement below **
"But what about the MPG? I mean, this thing is drinking gas like there is no tomorrow."
"Are they going to make a Hybrid version of this car?"
"This is killing our environment!"
Okay, I just needed to say that because some tree hugger is just going to serious write it anyway...
This is a pure sports car, we don't give a hoot about MPGs, Hybrids, etc. So if you want to post about that, you are wasting your time.

I intended to say nothing wrong with a little HP war now and then, and an HP war surely there is, 425 hp versions showing up all over the place in Chrysler's lineup, and the new base Hemi now upgrading to 380 hp. There are now or will soon be 400, 500 and even 600 + hp cars in GM's line up. 540 hp Mustangs roaming the streets. A 480 hp Nissan, that has people drooling. A lot of Exotics are coming with 700 or 800 hp, there are 1000 hp Veyrons out there, and there are already Boutique makers with models that claim 1100+. It's gotten to the point where really fast cars like the Lancer Evo and the WRX STi don't even get talked about because they don't have 600 hp.
What I was getting at with my comments was with gas prices spiraling out of control, it seems like an odd time for the world to be in the midst of an HP war. I worrie that this is the end phase of a golden age, in a few more years we will have garbage like the Mustang II hanging around as some green "performance" car, sort of like a half hearted apologies from the car company's for ruining cars again.

Err I meant that comment for Noya

Yes Travis, but you have to take into account that those Hemi equipped models sales numbers are not even 1/10th of the V-6 versions...probably even less than 1/10th. The same for Mustang GT's vs. base V-6 Mustangs. It's just that all we hear/read about are the cars we would love to drive.
The horsepowers wars are due to:
A - the tech/manufacturing is here to produce reliable, high-horsepower cars
B - every company needs a "Halo" car or two
C - there are more "rich" people now than ever before during the time of the automobile
Of course the future is not going to be the ICE, but electric, and Tesla is nearly there with it's Lotus based model.

Actually Noya I have a feeling that the future will go full circle back to some form of Natural Gas burning car. Methane Hydrates or "Burning Ice" hold the promise of an abundant energy source that should last for quite some time.
