Kia Attempts to Go After Scion with SOUL Concepts

kiasoulburnerconcept.jpg
Kia is going to bring three special versions of its upcoming SOUL to the Geneva Auto Show.

These three concept versions of the SOUL are expected to showcase the "the world of possibilities" for accessories, customizing and personalization of Kia vehicles (similar to Scion). Kia has released one teaser image of the SOUL Burner concept, which is supposed to be the "bad boy" of the trio with its matte finish, tattoos and big wheels.

Stay tuned for the official unveiling next month.

Its a Kia.......

longdxcommuter:

It will be interesting to see what vehicles Kia brings here to counter the Scion brand. Scion's success has allowed other car companies to reinvent thwe notion of what entry level cars should be. Scion's simplified model lineup coupled with the possibility of buyer options has created a loyal fanbase.

I don't think I've ever seen a Scion. Do they sell them in Canada?

Kia owner:

I bought and drive a 2007 Kia Optima LX with the 2.4L I4.
It is a very decent car, handles well, gets great fuel mileage considering it is considered a mid-size car.
I routinely get 25 mpg in city driving, sometimes 27 mpg, depends on how many traffic lights I hit on Red. I routinely get 33 mpg on the highway. 35 mpg if I keep the speed at 70mph or less instead of 75-80mph.
So it doesn't have all the bells and whistles a comparably sized Honda, Toyota, or a Nissan has. But at just a tad over $15,000 (with pricing incentives), the car was definitely a good buy.
Kia's quality has greatly improved over the past years. Read the reviews in Car and Driver.
The Kia Soul looks to be an awesome car. A tad bigger then a Mini Cooper, but with more interior room.
I certainly can't wait to test drive one.
