Lamborghini is going to unveil a revised version of its Gallardo at the Geneva Auto Show next month.

In addition to a revised Gallardo, Lamborghini is also going to unveil a new flagship Gallardo dubbed the LP550. According to Edmunds the LP550 will feature a 5.2L V10 with direct-injection technology that puts out 550 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. The new engine has 30 more horsepower than the 5.0L. Both of the transmissions have also been revised to send more power and torque to the awd system.

In regards to the styling of the revised Gallardo it will feature completely restyled front and rear fascias, although the interior will remain largely the same.

Pricing has yet to be announced, but you can expect the LP550 to be over $200,000.

Noya:

I swear a carbon fiber splitter & spoiler make any sports car look...sportier, especially Lambos.

Cheap Car Lover:

@ Noya

I know it's a Lamborghini, and cost is no object. But, in general, I think carbon fiber is too expensive to put on many cars. Especially on the front fascia where it'll get scratched up and ripped off.
And btw...
Honda civics with carbon fiber hood, spoiler(make that huge 3 layer rear wing) and interior trim pieces do not look sportier, they look stupid.

Moving on, Lamborghini should make some RWD cars again. There's too much weight and funky handling from AWD. At least in Forza, that is. My uncle had an '89 Countach QV, and I liked it more than I like the new Lambos...

Kell:

Drool...

My favorite car in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit has come to life!

dennisil:

the Countach had shock and awe qualities but the gallerdo is a well engeneerd car that i could see myself using as a daily driver, i would love to take this on a snowy dive through

Gary:

I used to drool all over these until Top Gear showed how a stock Lancer Evo can tail and pass one on a track. They still look like sex on wheels, but I think the performance gap between the Exotics and Daily Driver sports cars has closed significantly, leaving mainly the looks to differentiate.

John:

@ Gary

I think the Top Gear episode you're referring to had an Evo chase a Murcielago to see if the Evo can keep up. However, it wasn't a stock Evo, it was the MR FQ 400 (that's right 400HP) and it didn't really pass the Lambo, just the touring car driver messed up and spun it at the end. lol

Sabby:

550hp....$200k....yawn

Let's try 600hp+.....$100k....a la ZR1 and ACR

rafael:

@Sabby

yeah... thinking that way, when im in the market for a house i should buy a small warehouse instead... its like 3 times the room for the same price...

come on?!

maybe you should buy a 300c (the 5. something one) and put a quad turbo on it.. surely it would have more than 600hp and cost less than 100k...

dennisil:

@John nice you must be a top gear freak like me, Clarkson, Hammond, and May are brilliant.

@Sabby
you must be joking you think the vette will be a good car ? i bet on a track it is marvelouse but on a daily driving in traffic and on a long road trip it proboably sucks and you wont get another look from any hot chicks in a vette, thats waht there daddy drives, you need shock and awe in todays day, if you cant afford a 200K car and you want head turning action with a sporty chasis look at aston martin's V8 Vantage msrp is just over 100K and a 2 year used model goes for about 85k , sure its slow as balls but when do you need to use full throtle these days with all the speed cameras everywhere.
