Cadillac surprised everyone last month with the CTS Coupe Concept. Dealers were recently shown the coupe where GM talked about the CTS Coupe Concept becoming a reality.
GM is trying to bring Cadillac's sales back to the level they were at in 2005 (192,000 retail units). The new CTS sedan and Escalade are helping them get there, but the addition of a new CTS Coupe would make that goal even easier.
"They talked about the CTS coupe coming, which is just awesome," Thompson said. "We will do really well with that. It's for the person who doesn't have any kids and wants something stylish."
Although the coupe hasn't been officially announced there are rumors circulating that it could be introduced within 18 months.

This coupe is awesome! Cadillac is truly on a roll since 2007 and is just about head to head with BMW. If you don't like this car, then your eye vision must not be 20/20; you might need a pair of glasses.

Agreed. The new BMW designs just look sloppy. I much prefer the previous 5 series to the current generation. A CTS-V coupe....that would do well against a highend 5 series, maybe even the M3/5 (the M5 is probably pushing it).
Just remember us here Americans aren't all about the "handling" and "fancy" stuffs. You know sometimes you just want to lay some rubber.

Hey Noya, In case you haven't noticed, BMW has akward styling, so they really aren't exactly on top anymore. I wonder what you're smoking.

BMW always uses the same dashboard and/or front console design on all of the new cars!

To "Noya"
All new BMWs have very akward styling and all have the same front console and/ or the same dashboard. How could you question my comment?

The world needs more RWD coupes, I like it. I'd still take the Genesis coupe over this though.

did you ever hear a delear say he doesnt want something new?
Next thing he'll say, is that he cant sell the existing range, unless he has this special car to pull in the crowds....
At least thats what they said during the Allante....
This thing will sell the first year 30k pieces, and then it will stop.

BMW needs to hire new stylists - I saw a new BMW. and at first I thought it was an older Hundai.

The 3 series BMW looks awesome, all the other ones are pretty ugly. 97-03 5 series has timeless styling, BMW needs to get back to that.
About this coupe, The roof is too low, the body too big, the wheels are to big and there's too much 'ground effects' on it. All that being said, I still like it. I'm glad to see GM hasn't given up entirely on all RWD 4 seat coupes. Purple headlights are ugly and trendy, I don't know why the ricers love them so much.

@ Sabby
I'm guessing he was talking about 'for the money'. Considering this Caddilac will cost roughly double(+?) the Hyundai.

Cadillac has really made a turnaround lately, but as of performance and style, they're not quite up to bmw standards, but if they continue this trend, they may very well go head to head with bmw.

While I'm not a big fan of the current BMW styling, I still like it better than current Cadillac styling.
Nevertheless, by all reports Cadillacs have become far better dynamically many people expect, based on their late 20th century land yachts. Perhaps they aren't equals to BMWs (especially in some peoples minds.) But I gather they are comparable.
Were I considering a BMW purchase, I'd certainly wander over to a Cadillac dealer to see what's up over there.

/agree
Some like the styling, some don't. Same for BMW. I think we can all agree that it is distinctive. The interior is very nice, with good, no-nonsense gauges. Handling should be very good; no doubt it will be tuned at Nurburgring like the CTS sedan was. It would be direct competition for a 128i. I really like this coupe. A 400-500hp CTS-V coupe would be a 135i eater. The only question is pricing.

With GREAT cars like this Cadillac Coupe, why would GM even want to consider buying another automaker. They oughtta leave Chrysler alone. There good enough on their own anyway and GM is extremely powerful. They have even managed to produce and sell more cars than Toyota. They seem to be getting a bit cocky with all their success and power. Buying Chrysler would hurt more than it would help in my opinion!

This is a nice coupe, but I will have to agree that the syling is still not as well as BMW. I've just been recently converted because of the 335 styling, I actually never imaged me liking BMW. keep in mind that I'm talking about exterior, interior BMW is lacking.

HAHAHAHHHAHAHAHA.
*deep breath*
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA...
Ok seriously now,
I agree it looks great.
But in terms of driving fun... that is yet to be seen.
From my experience, cadillac's do NOT drive like bmw's
Unless you're comparing a cadillac race car to a production version beamer... then ok, Cadillac will have bmw licked there.

the CTS 4 door is pretty slick to drive.

I think this Caddy Coupe is awsome...I want one...
Love the styling, actually. To my eyes, it is not contemporary attractive (like a Maserati coupe), but it is more avant-guarde attractive (like an Infiniti FX, or the Nissan GT-R). I like it. It is not bad at all.
And I couldn't agree more with Steve above: the new BMW 3 series does look like an old Hyundai. What's with that headlights? the back is equally uninspiring. Ugly.
Best BMW: 97-03 5 series. That's the look to die for.

I must say this is the best Cadillac I've seen in a long time, although I'm not sold...yet. I love the front and the overall side view...but I'm just not into the rear. In my opinion I would've extended the rear a little bit more. It seems to have been cut off a little too soon for my liking...but it could be worse? To join the Caddy vs. BMW argument...I check the vote for previous BMW styling being much better than it is now. I love M3s, 335s, and the 6 series (especially the M6). Of the newest models...I like the 335 but that's about it. I'll reserve my opinion on the new M3 until I see it in person, but for the price tag magazine pictures haven't done it.
