Joan of Arc:

I'm quite the fan of BMW. In fact, I'm saving up to put a hefty down payment so I can drive a 335 here in the next couple weeks.

But isn't a coupe a two-door vehicle? I'm pretty sure I count four door handles. I'd expect something like this from lower end companies, but BMW? Come on, Bavarians...

Freaky looking thing... I don't know if I like it or not. I guess that means I won't be getting one.

iridiumshadow:

Kinda overpriced snob appeal IMO. BMW nickel and dimes you for all your features. How is that luxury? Standard would be luxury, epspecially for 63K.

Soft Close doors? WTF? Are you we to inept to close a door gently or are our ears to sensitive to the sound of a "thud". A good german car's doors close nicely too. You shouldn't need such a dumb thing.

Oh well, guess its another "baby protector" to take your spoiled child to the bus stop, because they are to weak to walk the extra block to the house.

Sphere:

Looks good fron the side, but that's it. Unimpressive at the back, and the front end is terrible. It looks like a marriage between the worse of the Cayenne front end with the worst of the 3 series, with some Hyundai/Subaru Tribeca on the mix here and there.

The worst feature: excessive lines on the hood, the trunk lid does not fit the bumper, the isolated fog lights look too small in the big black hole they are in. And its ride high is too high, bigger wheel opening could help there.

Is this suppose to go after the 2009 Infiniti FX 50/55, I'll pass easily. I much prefer my current FX over this one by miles, it oozes style, IMHO.

Sphere:

I like it. And I know these cars are a blast to drive on back roads. I like it.

Schillacci:

Yuck!
Eek!
Why?

These would be my recommendations for a more sincere and accurate name for this contraption. Avoid it.

D:

Excellent. Only $52K? I'll take two please.

Cheap Car Lover:

I don't think it's as ugly as some think, but it's still a 'crossover' and I hate crossovers and high riding cars. Who wan't s stupid coupe/suv thing anyways?

I think BMW can charge whatever they want for a car anymore.

@ Sphere - You haven't driven one of these, they're not available yet. In general BMW's are awesome drivers, and I'm sure this one will be no different. But please don't post nonsense comments.

bliq:

Why is it nonsense when you yourself has said that you're sure it will be no different than other BMWs that are awesome drivers?

Also, the tastes of american drivers are changing- parents are a huge market that automakers court aggressively and they're flocking to crossovers for easy ingress/egress for loading their children into carseats (they're higher so parents don't have to bend down as much) and also for their generally larger cargo and interior space. Like having a minivan without the stigma or an SUV with better gas mileage.

Allen:

Its not as hideous as anything GM is building these days, at least... still, with Mercedes building SUVs that look good, this thing has an uphill battle to win.

Jim B:

Actually, GM builds alot nicer looking products then what I see here. This vehicle looks like a rebadged Infiniti, which is not saying much at all. If u are going to pay over 50k for this thing, might as well have the aesthetics to go with it. This design DOES NOT cut it!!!

Gib:

What is the function of this thing? To do everything poorly?

Oh, I think I just got it. It is an M3 made for winter driving. Well that is useful in Alaska for 5 months of the year.

Anyway, I don't get it and will not buy it even if it is a BMW. Besides, we only have a few Starbucks in town so really no place to show it off anyway.
