The first Jaguar XF has rolled off the production line at the automaker's Castle Bromwich plant. The first XF produced was a 4.2 liter SV8 featured in Vapour Grey paint.
Although the XF is now rolling out of plant, the US will not get the car until March 2008. There will be two versions that are both powered by the 4.2L V8. The base engine features 300 horsepower and the supercharged 4.2L V8 features 420 horsepower.
The base XF starts at $49,975 and the supercharged XF starts at $62,975.

Thats a good looking car. Glad the Jaguar design team decided to go for a different type of design.

Hell of a design and all they need to do in order to excell in Europe is mate it to a solid diesel engine. I think they have one of those in house so it shouldn't be a problem.
But it looks like wonderful engineering and design and well worth moving to from the previous design levels.

@John:
Thats not a bad thing.
@Diesel:
Agreed, but Jaguar seriously needs to update their engines. The 4.2L is over 10 years old, christ. 10 years ago 300hp from that was good, but today's less costly and lighter M3 (E92) would soar past it. Sure there is more torque but not that much more considering how fast the M3 revs.
Audi is producing 354 hp with 4.2L in its V8, and more torque than the Jag.
Beautiful car, lacking on powertrain attention though.

@John:
Maybe perhaps Ford liked it so much they decided to use it amonst other products in their lineup?
Though I'm not complaining about the styling, I just wish it had more power.

I think it is a nice styling direction. Good execution. Hopefully, quality improvements will continue and then Jaguar will have a real contender.

Kinda reminds me of a Maserati from the front and an Aston Martin at the back. Still though, it's an amazing looking car and a definite improvement over the prior models.

Looks great, but multiple angle shows it looks like combination of many vendor design.
just my 2 cent
1, hood looks like a somewhat from Nissan maxima....
2, Chrysler 300 from the front quarter panel and headlight
3, also like a volvo
4, looks like a Lexus GS from a pillar till the c pillar
5, real quarter panel from the trunk line meeting the rear bumper looks like Acura TSX
6, older BMW wheel design
7, Lexus GS front lower bumper
8, Pontiac's steering wheel cover
9, BMW 7 series/Benz mix design

I'm a Jag fan, and I hate what Ford are doing to Jaguar.
Since buying Jaguar (was it 10 years ago?), Ford have been eroding all individual elements of Jag's sensous styling and making them look more and more like every other boxy bland Ford car.
They've taken the sleekness away from the XK8/R by making the nose so fat turned it into a box. The interior looks very cheap and plasticy compared to any of the older XK series. They now seem to use basically the same steering wheel across all their product lines from the chepest to the most expensive.
And this new XF looks just like every other german box that has been out for years (i.e. generic bland corporate grey salesman transporter).

Everyone seems to have caught the powertrain issue... This car looks beautiful and classy, yet when you look at what all the competition offers, it doesn't seem so appealing. When I'm willing to purchase a luxury car (when it first debuts) I expect it be the a technological marvel.
Its kinda sad how Ford always managed to screw up something like this... Is it so hard to go all the way and put in a suitable powertrain for such a machine?!
