Subaru released a teaser image of the upcoming 2009 Forester two days ago and now we have two new spy photos of it without any camouflage.
We now have a much clearer view of the rear end and of the front fender. You can expect more photos in the coming days.

meh..ill stick with my old xt. traded a built wrx for it.. put a bigger turbo, intercooler, injectors, exhaust and had it dyno tuned. with the 4.44 gears in the 05 mine is quicker than my wrx ever was ....in a straight line.
putting duals on a forester is a waste on the 2.5l engine. adds a huge cost to modifying the exhaust system.

Looks to me like a bad case of the North American Make It Bigger.

@ Truxy:
You beat me to it. :) Either that thing is a HELLUVA lot taller, or they took the picture from the seat of a Lotus Elise.
What the hell is wrong with automakers? There's nothing compact anymore.

If it still has the off-road capabilities of the old forester, and if it's styling has improved, then I say finally! The forester's problem was that it is not that good looking. It's actually a reasonably usable 4wd "crossover" suv/wagon, I always thought of it as vehicle for off road driving or for driving on very rough tracks. Now, ofcourse, if this is a rebadged GM, like happened to the suzuki xl-7 (which is now a crippled oversized street suv) then I'll agree with Truxy.
btw elemental I didn't know people tuned these cars

to Andri : For sure, anything with a turbo and a low compression engine, people will inevitably give it more boost ;)

Europe got the Forester STI, hopefully that sees the light of day in the states. But yeah, it had an order of badonka a donk butt and that "does it makes my pants look tight" meal like all the american cars/trucks eat....

I'm not really impressed. From these images it looks pretty much like every other SUV that's on the road these days.
