2009 Subaru Forester Revealed on the Cover of a Magazine

2009_forestercover.jpg
We've seen a few spy photos and shots of Subaru's all-new Forester, which is not supposed to be unveiled until late next month. Now we have the Forester on the cover of a Japanese magazine.

It looks like the 2009 Forester is going to get less boxy styling and a grille very similar to the larger Tribeca SUV. We're still waiting to hear what is underneath the hood. At this rate you can expect the final stats to leak soon.

Travis:

wow it's kind of ugly, hopefully it will look better in the real world or when we get better pictures of it, the camera is not in the best location for that one.

RETNIAP:

no good.

SteelCity1981:

Is it me or does it seem like Subaru is always 5 or even 10 years behind styling from the rest of the auto industry? I mean the Forester for the longest time seemed that way and even with this new design it still lags behind the latest styling Q's.

Diesel:

Fugly.

This can really only be bought by people who don't care about design at all or like ugly stuff. I sometimes buy ugly stuff just for kicks but not a car.

blah you:

It looks a lot better than the old Forester...that's not saying much though:) Who buys a Suburu for looks anyway?

o:

looks like a tourage

JD:

cept for the retarded looking mirror near the front I don't mind the looks.

2ms:

So I guess Subarus are going for Chrysler grilles on their proboscises for this go-round? The problem is that Subarus always have awful proportions -- no matter how snazzy a grille you throw on there none of them are going to work.

Scott:

If thats a mirror on the fender like many of you say, its the size of a teaspoon and 4 feet away. My guess is it's a snorkel for those "deeper" puddles. Is it really a mirror or what?
