The UK and probably most of Western Europe has a strong dislike for large SUVs. But for some reason GM still feels that there is a market there for its smallest Hummer.
The distinctive Hummer H3 has had its steering wheel moved to the other side so it can make the trek over to the other side of the world. Will its distinctive looks draw buyers or will its looks make it even more of a target for the anti-SUV movement?
The Hummer H3 will go for £26,495 (US$53,771) and weighs in at 4,700lb (2136kg). It also only manages to get 20mpg (11.76L/100km) from its 244hp 3.7L motor. Can't wait to see what happens when it goes on sale.

How does exporting these to the UK add $20,000 to the price tag? I realize there are a few fees involved like higher taxes and gas guzzler taxes, but are those really so high over there that the price can go up that much?
And wait..... ah, are your conversions right? Currently a Euro is a $1.40.... that would mean that 26,495 Euros equals $37093. Not $53,771.

i guess, ONE is ok. They might park it in front of the US ambassy in stead of these ugly sandfilled containers.
On second thought, the containers look better.

If they get a diesel option I'm going to be jealous. Otherwise, good luck to the suckers who buy these overpriced, underpowered turd boxes.
Doesn't GB have the "All Your Pound are Belong to Uk" VAT on everything sold that jacks the price of imports way high? Or does everything get nailed with that tax.

Yep,
VAT (a.k.a. sales tax) is a whopping 17.5% in the UK.
I bet nobody in the UK will buy one of these. Apart from the prohibitive petrol prices, many streets are just too small for something like this.
Also the general consensus in most of the world other than the US seems to be that if you feel the need to own something like this you must have a very small penis.

This whole idea of exporting these gas guzzlers to the UK is absurd. It is like crome tipping a shovel. Sure it looks nice but it is pointless. The Hummer brand has been losing traction in the US, due to gas prices and polarizing styling. The H1 is effectively killed off, the H2 doesn't even look at home in a rap video anymore, and the H3 is a rebodied colorado platform with less room and efficiency. The UK now has another reason to laugh at us.
