More Photos of the 2008 Lexus IS-F Released...Can You Deal With White Leather?

1lexusisf.jpg
I know I can't! Lexus has released a few more photos of the upcoming Lexus IS-F that is going to go head to head with the BMW M3 and Audi RS4 sedans.

The high-performance IS is expected to put out more than 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque from its 5.0L V8. The engine is mated to the world’s first eight-speed "direct sport-shift" transmission that can be manually shifted by two paddle shifters. The IS-F should reach 0-60mph in less than 4.9 seconds.

A coupe version of the car is also expected.

How come nearly every car these days (even really expensive ones) are getting that same tacky plastic silver/grey center console? Are even the Jap makers now sharing the same Ford parts bin or something?

If I pay big bucks for a luxury car I would expect wood, leather, carbon fiber or brushed aluminum, not cheap-looking silver-painted plastic.

JohnnyNismo:

Where the F**K is the Supra?!?!?!? Toyota has an engine, drivetrain and everything else they need. They just need to make a 2 door, meaty looking, car and call it a gawdamz Supra!

Noya:

I love that, 0-60 in less than 4.9 seconds.

The freaking IS350 does 0-60 in 4.9 seconds! with a 3.5L V-6 and 6-spd auto.

What's your guess on acceleration? 100bhp+/50lb.ft.+...?

Diesel:

It actually looks good. Call me strange but I even like the white leather. I do think though that the new M3 is a good looking car after a long time of ugliness from BMW so I doubt I would go for the IS-F over the M3.

Terence:

I think the exhuast looks weird. Who stacks them on top of each other like that? different? sure... unique? maybe... not quite my taste. I thought someone photochopped it or something. I think the interior looks nice and so does that blue paint job...

Jacob:

It looks like a mazda!

Bear:

well jacob, you're kinda' right....but the door cut is obviously lexus... so ::)))

You're probably the idiot that bought a pontiac aztec as well.. haha.... Looks pretty good to me? wooden panels with that white leather? Does your mom dress yourself too? moron...

Jason:

White leather = class, period.

I don't know... I kind of like the white leather. I doubt that it would look good in a dark-colored car, but in silver, with black leather accents it'd probably be my choice over the more standard options of black, gray, tan, or that strange "natural" orange that everyone seems to have these days.

Now, what I don't like is that strange silver carbon fiber by the shifter and on the arm rests. Dark carbon fiber is tacky enough (unless used for exterior body panels to save weight) and this car would look much better with brushed aluminum.

Steve:

WOWOW. 0-60 in 4.9, seats 0-dirty in 4.8.

c4v3man:

@Steve
I usually don't crap my pants until around 160mph, but if 58's your limit...

Cody:

The way the tailpipes are, 2 for 2 gives it more horsepower. I know it looks like it shouldn't belong but for the amount of hp you gain just from that, its really worth it in the end, I don't care what the engine looks like.... just how much power it outputs!

gm0n3y:

@cody,

It would look better if they just dumped it into 2 bigger tail pipes and would work the same in the end.
